True, I just need to grow two more hands to take care of that as well... ;)

    Nooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But would that be fair to people who actually made the initial deadline? You should advertise the contest more, but keep the initial deadline. (Yes if you couldn't already tell, I want my background to win something!) lol

Hahaha, good works will be good even if people submit more. ;) But if we don't get enough entries we might take a long break before announcing the next contest as people just don't seem to be interested.

    Character Contest!

If the character contest did so much better, then you should do that contest next, and maybe up the prizes (even though I don't really know how you could) ;)

Yeah well after the second contest, if we calculate sales of the game minus contest expenses, we are pretty far away in the red sector so please try not to remind me of that...

It depends on the number of last minute submission we'll get. If not enough, I'll extend the contest by one week.

Man... I've been super busy (and lazy) recently. Still haven't even started and I'm having second thoughts about a couple... they seem more like they should be specific level designs rather than objects. I'm not sure.

Being lazy to the letter might be hard work, even cause stress if someone bothered you all the time, sent you emails or you'd need to read newspaper to see what's on the tv etc. if someone gave you some tasks in a game... It's not easy either, I know. :)

I've decided to save my ideas for when you give us the chance to design a whole level ;) Then I can put everything together and hopefully come up with something awesome.

As for this competition, I could easily do a couple of backgrounds by tomorrow but I'm not sure about objects...

i know that it's not in the spirit of the contest to just mention ideas...but unfortunately i lack the artistic skill and a program to do up a decent image for you guys. these ideas are free to use, and if you somehow win, the promo code is of course yours.

    water
-propeller blades to replace the saws
-a puffer fish that expands when a character gets near, spiking them, and launching them away
-electric eels that shock the characters
-a stream of bubbles that emit from the floor/walls that push the characters into different areas or into other harmful objects(preferable)

    war
-mg bunker whose bullets damage and propel the characters away
-tanks that act similar to the boulders. at first immobile, but with a nudge could easily roll over your character.
-jeep. similar to the pigjets you activate but with horizontal movement. your character can either get hit by one after activating it, or you can ride one. riding one could lead to some awesome jumps and explosive endings. or maybe you'll drive right into...
    -barbed wire bush. nuff said

Those are great ideas. I could draw a couple of those but I suck at animation so no chances on the puffer fish and eels... which is sad cause the puffer fish is my favourite of all the stuff you mentioned.

Actually the more I think about the bubbles the more I like it. Gravity is your enemy in iDD, cause as long as you're in the air there's a chance for more damage, as soon as you land (and you're out of pulls) it's over. So having a stream of bubbles that constantly floated upwards and pushed the character along with it would be a great way of getting extra points and making the rounds last longer.

Who's played the original Sonic the Hedgehog? Remember those parts on the Labyrinth Zone with the underwater tunnels that the current pushed you through? That'd works excellently with the bubbles. Quick sketch to show the idea (yes I know it looks like a cup of water):

No problem with that, you already won the first prize in one contest. :D

That's generous of you, as the ideas are just great! ;) Thanks!

-propeller blades to replace the saws
    - Hmm we already have those propeller "rectangles", so we could use them instead, or make blade versions of them, and the blades would cut the ragdolls instead of causing just hit damage.

-a puffer fish that expands when a character gets near, spiking them, and launching them away
    - Cool! ;) As a scubadiver I love the idea. :)

-electric eels that shock the characters
    - We have electric damage in the incomplete Drop Dead 2, but here we could create a twisting snake from a couple of physics blocks and add the high voltage effect there. Absolutely cool idea, too! :)

-a stream of bubbles that emit from the floor/walls that push the characters into different areas or into other harmful objects(preferable)
    - Actually I just realized how to do this the easy way with the physics engine. ;) Another great idea!

-mg bunker whose bullets damage and propel the characters away
    - Flying bullets would be cool, all we have now are stationery bombs until you touch / pull them...

-tanks that act similar to the boulders. at first immobile, but with a nudge could easily roll over your character.
    - If you touched them they could also fire mortars? ;)

-jeep. similar to the pigjets you activate but with horizontal movement. your character can either get hit by one after activating it, or you can ride one. riding one could lead to some awesome jumps and explosive endings. or maybe you'll drive right into...
    - Gotta reveal that I already have a car listed in my TODO-list. ;) Oh yeah, long jumps and explosions!

    -barbed wire bush.
    - I need to kill you now, because I already had planned that to the next world we'll do (that we haven't mentioned anywhere what it will be). XD

nodoctors, really, thanks for the ideas, I love them! ;)

Hey, we could just enlarge the puffer fish image with code. If it had two frames (sleepy and angry) I guess that might be just enough!

And eels, let's use the physics engine to that. Three rectangular white blocks joined together with joints, and the last one is covered with head sprite.

I have to say I'm a big fan of Mario, so I can't write here anything nice about Sonic, but I hear you. ;) Those bubbles would make water levels more interesting, that's for sure.

How about this idea for an object, a huge nuclear bomb, about 4x the size of the ones in the game already, BUT... when tapped the top opens up and a boxing glove shoots out and hits you in the face ;)
