That would also be cool. I'm importing a character into Quest for Glory 2 now, and it's annoying to type "ask" and "look" all the time for example.
Figured it out... Last command in the START.BAT file was "exit" which exits the DOS shell. BTW: Anyone launching games from the iDOS 2.app? The AUTOEXEC trick dosen't work.
@litchie Has anyone reported issues with control drift in any games? I’m trying to play Star Control 2, and there is a super annoying control problem where it gives a false input (left turn) every few seconds. Makes menus hard to navigate and controlling the ships super annoying. It happens if I use the on-screen keyboard controls, virtual controller or a physical controller. I hope there is some fix for this, because it sadly makes that game unplayable.
Please try the latest version. 1. Go to settings and make sure your game controller is connected; 2. Go to iDOS landscape and tap on the bluetooth icon to map your gamepad buttons.
Glad that it works. However, it's for text input only. If you want to play action games, consider using a game controller.
I wonder if apple would allow a commodore 64 version on the app store, like ic64 you could use it to program your own games, and use files to upload games. There was one back in the day but i dont have an old iphone anymore. Does anyone know if there is a c64 emulator that would work with idos?
finally its back im trying to run windows 3.1 but im having problem in mount the C: can some one tell me how its mount ? like if i type : mount c c:\dos\win\c its will say Directory doesnt exist please help and 1 extra question ! how i mount cd for game " aka : Z game "
Pack everything you need in a zip file, than download it on your iPhone File App. Now extract in in a new folder. Then rename this new folder containing all your beloved contents whit the extension “.idos”. Now it changes its icon and you can touch it whit the result of launching iDOS whit mounted your folder as a drive. Hope I was helpful.
On my iPad i have iDOS2 folder. I drop installed Heroes2 game folder + heroes2.iso file in iDOS2. If i want to play Heroes 2 i mount heroes2.iso with command "imgmount d heroes2.iso -t iso". It mount as CD-ROM d:\ Then i just go into Heroes2 folder and run HEROES2.EXE The Z game is different. It is just folder with gamefiles. All you need is run Z.bat from it.
I just downloaded the new update: AWESOME!!! Our beloved app is getting better and better! Just one things: we need a command to de-mount a folder to clean drive d: and re-mount another different folder in the app, without exiting it. Hope it will be added. Thank you Litchie! You make our dreams come true!
The latest version (iPhone only) allows you to bind text command to gamepad buttons, including dpad arrows. Just tap on the small screwdriver button at the bottom. Text adventure games usually have a large vocabulary, so you can't bind every verb, but I hope this makes your life slightly easier.
so @litchie, i need to download a game directly on iCloud, then rename the unzipped game folder with a .idos extension and when i tap on it, the game is mounted on the D disk? am i right? and how can i run the game without type anything, like you said in an previous post? btw, the new UI is awesome, great update pal!
If you launch from Files app, the .idos package will mounted as C. For more details, see https://litchie.com/2020/10/idos2-icloud If you mount a idos package (any folder, actually) by tapping on the drive icon, then it will be mounted to D.
