    Try adding

    [joystick]
    joysticktype=none

to the config... it's how you do it with regular dosbox as I recall, any ideas on mounting a folder as opposed to an image? :)

EDIT: Actually, I don't know if anyone thought to post this for a command list... but I'm sure it'd do everyone good if it hasn't http://www.dosbox.com/DOSBoxManual.html also troubleshooting and stuff, maybe not EXACTLY for this version, and I'm sure stuff has been modified for this version, but still useful.

You know, I think I might still have an install CD around here somewhere. I'll look around for you. :)

It crashes a lot. In fact, crashing seems to be the only thing it's good at.

In other words, it runs like Windows 95 always ran. The emulation is so accurate, it's spooky!

That makes no sense, as I have about 15gb free on the device. I ran the installer via W3.1. Would that make any difference?

Did you jailbreak the device? If you transferred the files in an odd way (e.g. SSH), that might cause a permissions problem. A permissions problem could manifest as a write error.

Another possibility is that you were accidentally trying to write to a CD drive. CDs are non-writable and present themselves as being full. That could generate "out of disk space" errors.

Those are my only guesses at the moment.

You guys are in luck. I found my CD for Ultrabots! I'll IM the download address.

I also found my disk for Iron Helix! I'll have to boot it up and give it a go. Ah, memories. :)

Edit: Iron Helix requires WINDOWS?!?! That's just wrong. Sick and wrong. Ah well, I guess it gives me an excuse to see if I can get Windows doing something useful. (I know, a joke in itself. ;))

    Back up .ipa

I haven't sync'd iTunes since I bought this app. Now I need to sync but I'm extremely paranoid about losing the app.

Can someone tell me how to back up the .ipa file in case it gets blown away when I sync?

It is jailbroken, but it says that there is not enough free space. Defs not trying to write to a CD drive, it was the C:\ drive.

In that case I'd say it's probably a permissions problem. DOS didn't have permissions, so a failure to write was always assumed to be a full disk.

Make sure the source files and target directories all have 666 (rw-rw-rw-) and 777 (rwxrwxrwx) permissions, respectively.

With Mac OS X hit Command + Space keys together and enter iDOS 1.0.ipa in Spotlight search. It will find the location where it resides (if you downloaded iDOS via iTunes,—if you didn't you'll have to sync before with the iDevice on which you downloaded it). Copy and save that file. I did that immediately when I got iDOS ten days ago.

Hey guys I wanted to let you know megaman and castlevania run real well around 3500 clock speed. But I cant figure out how to jump in megaman. Also, I dont know why but when you unzip some games it unzips not to their own directory or folder the same name as zip but to the main directory or folder. Castlevania unzipped to its own for instance but megaman to mm.exe on the main.

The games will unzip however they were zipped.
If they were in a directory and then that directory was zipped, you'll get them extracting into that directory.

As I posted earlier in this thread, I always make a directory for the game, say Battletech Crescent Hawks Inception, btech1 for example, and put the game files there.

Then I move it to iDOS, and unzip there, which creates the btech1 directory with the correct files in it.
I usually move files from the root dir with DN to C:\GAMES, so you end up with in this specific example, of C:\GAMES\BTECH1

I know I could make a games directory, put the btech1 directory in there, then put the files inside, and zip it all so it will extract into the games folder, but I just make one directory to make my life less complicated when making the game zips.

Plus I move games around inside iDOS with DN , currently I have GAME1 GAME2 GAME3 and the mandatory GAMES directory.
(Mandatory because if you move rename or delete it, iDOS makes it again, so you might as well use it.)

I put tested/working/favorites into the GAMES directory.
I delete ones that are not working so well.

Also, each zip I create I save on my desktop in my iDOS directory. If I delete one I don't like or find not working right, I can easily re-install it to iDOS if needed later.

Stuff I have installed and somewhat tested (and some have not been):

Heh that ended up being a bigger list than I thought it would. Guess im really an old-school dos geek at heart :)

OK QUIZ for you OLD SCHOOLERS, what was this command for?

    g=c800:5
(Hint, you used it in the debug command...)

If you have to Google it, you don't get to answer hehe

    Take care peeps!

EDIT: And a tip, always make your files follow the 8.3 standard, and use all lower case. I know DOS is supposed to be case-insensitive, but iDOS is not really.

It depends on what you zipped before. When it was a folder (archive) it will unzip to a folder, when it was a single file (exe p.e.) it will expand to that very single file in that directory where you unzip. Since some exe files (esp. from DOS times) are nothing more than a compressed folder with an own unzip routine inside (which executes on launching the exe) put them in a selfmade folder (DOS command md "make directory") before launching otherwise it will glut your C: drive root directory with installation files and you'll have to delete them manually. Microsoft Word 5.5 is such an exe file p. e.

Syncing won't delete the app. I think once it's on your PC/mac it's yours and tied to your iTunes account. Apple could get iTunes to delete pulled apps and/or refuse to sync them but as far as I know, that's never happened with any pulled app.

I'm pretty sure you could even copy it to another computer as long as you still use the same iTunes account.

Strange, i've been playing WC2 with no joystick issues...
Pretty much using your config, but with core=dynamic (i jailbroke, the speed increase is noticeable IMO)

BTW i couldnt seem to download DOSPAD from the repo. Anyone know if the latest beta is better than iDos?

hey guys thanks for the tips. Also, for some reason I get a memory error when trying to play ultima udnerworld 1 or 2. I dont get this in u7 after I added someething to the config someone posted earlier in the thread or on one in general game section. But now I have it with ultima underworld 1 and 2.
