Sorry if I missed it but have scanned through this massive thread! 60 pages last night and the rest today,

But unless I missed it I didn't see a guide anywhere for... Idiots!

Has anyone seen or would be prepared to do a guide for beginners to the world of DOS and typing stuff to make things run etc.

I'd be happy to proof read instructions and test everything out.

Of course if one already exists then coolie!

What settings did you use to get Pagan working? I got Ultima VII working (but had to edit the config to switch off the EMS), once booted it was DEAD slow!

EDIT: wait, maybe its loading....did it take forever and a day to boot up?

EDIT EDIT: No just appears to be a blank screen now...

Hello I am running windows Vista and i have a question. how do you use iTunes and drag a zip file of the game into the iDOS area? I have tried just dragging it but it wont let me!!!! Plz help me

 

I said it once and I'll say it again - if you don't even know the basics about operating DOS, why did you get the app to begin with?

 

Just running in iDOS. You gotta skip the intro pretty quick after the point in the picture, though, otherwise the game crashes.

 

Just loaded up Championship Manager 93-94 now those were the days

 

I would guess becouse of the huge number of real great games that run on dos

Bear with me, and no more scanning 1000's of posts for the answers you seek. also anyone can PM specific questions they are having and I will do my best to answer them in the guide. Once it's completed I'll make a seperate post in General Discussion with the guide.

 

oooh yea, seeing that full throttle screen got me fired up! i'm putting carmageddon aside for now (it crashes back to the home screen after waiting to start the race) and digging my FT cd out of the closet! any specifics on settings for that one IzzyNobre?

In iTunes, click the Apps tab, /scroll down/, on the left pane, select iDos, on the right pane, you can drag/drop a file, or click Add... and select one from the browser.

 

Great games that these younger kids probably never played.

Do you really think a kid who doesn't even know how to get into a directory in DOS ever played the original Warcraft?

I was refering to the countless users asking things like "how do I unzip a zipped file in iDOS" or "what's the command to get into a folder".

Seriously, if you don't even know how to get into a folder in DOS, you must be too young to have played any of the DOS classics anyway, so why these people are even posting in this thread is beyond me.

Hrmm, is there no way to get full talk in scumm games without the CD right? Day of the Tentacle characters talk in cutscenes but not when examining items. I own the CD, just no way to get those files onto iDOS huh... Bummer.
