    I love this thing... great way to enjoy some of the classics. Like Leisure Suit Larry 1. Works great with the thumb-mouse controls!

    Thanks, I'll try it. Where exactly did you add that?

    dospad.cfg?

    Lol, seems like you had a little more luck than I did, I just got the usual Internet Explorer has crashed message every time i tried to launch it =/.

    I'm also yet to figure out how to gain access to any other drives other than the C:\ of Windows, haven't looked to far into yet though.

    Haha yeah, that's the best thing about it, alot quicker to install, I did try to install Win95 onto the iPhone using the setup disk, after about 4 hours of install time, it didn't work :(! I was shattered. </3 :p

    It might be the same copy, as the one i've used was intended for the PSP as well. Fingers crossed you can get 98 to work, what happened the with the first attempt?

    I would assume that's where he put it... you can also type 'memsize 32' in iDOS.

    I've got Wasteland working on my 3G, but I need to play with the cycle settings. The text during battles scrolls too fast to read. Also, the controls aren't the greatest on a tiny iPhone screen :D

    Yeah I added it to the config file I'm still playing with settings a bit trying to tweak things and see if I can get any more speed.

    The first attempt with 98lite did actually work but it took ages to fully boot up again that was a copy I found a few years ago, also intended for the PSP although it ran pretty slowly there as well.

    I got most of the Quest games from Sierra working at near perfect conditions with sound EXCEPT Quest for glory 4

    Quest for Glory 4 - Shadows of Darkness....using my cfg settings below I was able to get it to around 70% speed, but the text would disappear so quickly without clicking the mouse, shows up on screen for like 1second, i dont know why (any ideas)?? upping the cycles just makes the sound super choppy and lowering the cylces makes the game run so slow
    -

    Games tested using custom cfg listed below-

    Kings Quest 5 and 6 -near perfect, with full audio!
    Leisure Suit Larry 1 VGA, 5, and 6 - near perfect, full audio
    Police Quest 1 and 3 - near perfect, full audio
    Quest for Glory 1 VGA, 2, and 3 - near perfect, full audio
    Space Quest 1, 4, and 5 - near perfect, full audio
    Robin Hood - 95% speed, very playble, full audio

    using a ipod touch 4G with ver. 4.1, also each one has somewhat different cycles from 2500 - 3500 depending on game..so average cycle 3000

    cfg

    [dosbox]

    [sblaster]
    #sbtype=none

    [render]
    frameskip=0

    [cpu]
    core=normal
    cycles=3000
    cycleup=500
    cycledown=20

    [mixer]
    #rate=22050
    #blocksize=8192
    prebuffer=100

    [midi]
    mpu401=none
    mididevice=none

    [speaker]
    #pcspeaker=false

    [render]
    scaler=none

    Tyrian is a code re-write.
    It does not look like dosbox is capable of running it on ipad w/o hickups..

    GREAT!!! i'm playing Space Quest 1 and 2 on a 3G and both runs almost perfect at 200 cycles... :)
    SQ3 doesn't run as good as the first two chapters, and Star Trek 25th Anniversary is also too slow... :(

    I tried these five Bitmap Brothers games and they all work without problems (default settings, iPad):
    Xenon 2, Speedball 2, Gods, Cadaver, Magic Pockets

    Thank you so much! I just cannot believe that my iPad is running windows 95. I have a closet full of games I want to try out.

    Just one more question - in which directory in iDos should I put the game setup file so I can access it in win 95?

    Thanks as well. Now that win 95 works I can do without win 3.1 :D

    I haven't tried to bump the cycles up yet...It run okay on mine. Yes, it is a tad slow, but I was able to do the mock battle in the beginning just fine. I have also got Batman Returns and Ace Ventura I'm going to try as well. Ultima Pagan runs good too.

    Torin's Passage, a little known Sierra adventure game (possibly the last released), with a NoCD patch, crashes on the Sierra screen in idos.

    Which is weird because the NoCD patch also installs a DosBox wrapper around it, so it works in DosBox.

    No worries, yeah, thats one problem I am currently facing (because the problem is its an image, not an actual install), the only way I've found out how at this stage, is to actually add the folders to the w95.img.

    I havn't tested it at this stage, so i suggest making a backup of w95.img, the tool is DiskExplorer which you can find here: http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA013937/editdisk/editd169e.rar

    Open the w95.img, and then select 'vmware plain disk' from the drop down.

    From there right click on the right list view, to either import files, or create a new directory.

    As i said, I can't guarantee this will work.

    Haha, really its only a two step process, its not really installing it, its running of an image :p!

    How To Make iDos run Faster

    To make iDos run faster the easiest way to do that is mess with the cycles which is represented by the green 3000. Just hold ctrl and click on f11 to make the number go down to about one thousand:) And hold ctrl f12 to go upwards
    Oh and can someone please tell me about a detailed way of putting a zip file onto idos on itunes:confused:
