Universal iDOS 2 - DOS Emulator (by Litchie)

I got this yesterday, and still haven't figured out how to get iDos the detect zip files I put in it. I'm determined though. I really want to get Empire's Deluxe running!

 

Looking at the latest post on the news page...

Wouldn't it be awesome if Bethesda Softworks took some of the great little unofficial improvements to the daggerfall code and resources (check the UESP pages daggerfall files page) and updated daggerfall using this to run on the ipod using a little sprite hack to replace the nude sprites provided with "underwear" ones?

This isn't even something Bethesda has to do- Talk to them, shoot them a line about this idea. Offer to split profits with them by an offer (but keep a 30% minimum for yourself). Hell, ask them if you can bundle Arena with it too in the CD version to sell on the Itunes store for even more money and for them to gain a slightly larger share of the profits.

Behold the future.

(Oh, and EA should look at this- if they used this to release the first system shock and the Ultima Underworld games they'd be really well off- system shock has new-found cult popularity and Ultima Underworld 1+2 is still being talked about)

It's so slow and there is no sound yet, but it's a start. Chrono Trigger for SNES using zsnes in iDOS..

 

How do I SSH into a jailbroken iphone? Going to transfer the files over that way as it's faster.

 

File sharing does not work for me. I get the dialog file to add, but nothing happens when I add it. The file doesn't appear. I've selected Dospad Beta, zipped it, renamed it to .ZIP and also tried the raw file. No luck. Please help

 

Yes!! It's an awesome tool considering a lot of games are actually emulated in a playable state. On the iPhone 4 at least.

 

Try hitting CTRL-F12 until the CPU clock is up over 9,000.

Ok tried another version of WC2 now im getting this error:
DOS/46W professional error (3504): Cant create swap file ""
and fatal error (1011) VMM initialization error (1)

WTF iDOS so far has been giving me a ****ing headache.. ughhh...

Anyone got the same problem or even a solution reply back or PM me please.

 

can anyone tell me what the best sound settings are to be configured for both warcraft and warcraft 2 to get nice sound and so it effects the speed the least? ALso why is it that warcraft 2 blizzard intro screen is so choppy compared to the first games when it is the exact same thing? what cpu cycles and frame skip is best for war2?

 

Woohoo! Finally got Empire Deluxe working! I was just putting in a name weird. This is great!

Next step is to organize everything. iDos created some weird directories whic I gotta delete, and I need to move the main folder to games to make it more accessible. Any tips on this?

 

You can! ---just mount the iso and then install it.... it is really slow though...takes about 2 minutes to get to the title screen and setting up a new character takes a long time....so just pick a preset character if you want to leave the vault quickly.

I think fallout 2 need windows NT or 98....it would not let me insall it.

 

Is anyone else getting size mismatch for DosPad? I can't download it. Keeps resuming at 2.2MB, and then saying "Size mismatch". I'm thinking it has downloaded a corrupt part and now I can't redownload the full file from scratch.

 

I'm preeeeetty sure Warcraft 2 is completely unplayable no matter what

 

Man do I ever wish I picked this up before it got pulled.

hmm, still doesn't work when I use file sharing with dospad beta running.

I have dospad beta - is that a problem?

 

try iDos or the regular dospad Version. afaik the beta is a diff version.

 

iDos was removed from the app store, and the developer's repo only includes dospad.
How would I get it?
