Well, Day of the Tentacle is a nominee for the best game ever. But I'd like to see it with adjusted controls (like Monkey Island 2, not Monkey Island 1, that's for sure).
Gotta find my old "talkie" copy of DoTT (that is, with voices). This one only has voices in the cutscenes.
Why don't you lay off the more complicated stuff (which is really hard to get running well) and start with simpler stuff that's guaranteed to work? Apogee has all their old Shareware games (many of which have been re-released as freeware) available here: http://www.3drealms.com/downloads.html Most of those will work, and work well. Without any tweaking. Internet is a no-go. The standard DosBox distribution leaves TCP/IP out of the emulator. There's a patch to make it work, but it doesn't appear that the developer added the patch in. Word or Excel should work, but only the really old, cruddy versions. (Feel free to insert jokes about those being the current revisions. )
Rogue (Nethack-like game).... if iDOS supported the keyboard dock or BT keyboard it would be fantastic.
Just booted up Pinball Fantasies, a tad slow but just fine! I really really wish I had access to a PC now to get some more things on... I also really wish it had BT keyboard support. Or that I had an iPad.

Great tip, but DoTT isn't complicated at all. Runs 100% with no tweaks required - I just wanted the version with the voices
I got geoworks with my 286 preinstalled. Loved it and went straight to os/2 after it instead of windows. Wonder where you found it . My disks don't work anymore
Way too slow on my Iphone 3G, but managed to run Panzer General on it and played a couple of turns of Warsaw scenario With a speedier phone I could also try Steel Panthers, Age of Rifles and other classic strategy gems. Anyone tried these on iPad or iPhone 4?
Quest for Glory 4 Anyone here got Quest for Glory 4 - Shadows of Darkness to work with good speed? Tried it with default dospad.cfg file and runs pretty slow!! Anyone manage to mess around with the .cfg file and cycles? I'm on a iPOD touch 4G Quest for Glory is my favorite series and its a shame if I can't run it at playable speeds? I tested the Quest for Glory 1 and Space Quest 1 both VGA remakes on the iPOD touch 4G, works good on default settings only has sound stuttering issues..any way around the stuttering issues?
