Simple question: Is there a way to reset the emulator, so that I don't have to restart the phone if a game freezes? Thanks
Hahaha! After some trial and error, I finally figured it out. It was a lot easier than I thought. If you installed Dos Navigator into a folder called C:\DN, just add this to the end of your dospad.cfg file. Code: [autoexec] C:\DN\DN.COM That'll start the program when you start iDOS.
OK, I got Darklands to run, anyone remembers that one? Runs smoothly. Realms of Arkania and Magic Candle are next...
Does anyone know why I can't increase my CPU cycles past 105%. And also. Why is it now displaying in percent not 3000!
I tried The Dig and it simply exists to the home screen immediately upon trying to run it. I didn't expect it to run well anyways, of course, but I had at least hoped it would start.
Okay guys, I need some help. I would like to run zsnes in iDOS so that I can play some of my SNES games, but when I do that I get a very poor framerate and it locks up when I try to open a ROM. Is there any way to boost the amount of the cpu that the emulator is allowed to use, or is it a lost cause because running a game inside of an emulator inside of an emulator will never work?
Can someone PLEASE provide detailed directions for getting Windows 3.1 on here. I have tried a ton of stuff in this topic but the setup.exe command isnt doig anything for me. Please help meh!
I got Windows installed. You can't even play lol because you can't hold and drag the mouse... on to games. Warcraft 2... FORGET IT! Lags as molasses What great ones to try? Was Super Mario available on DOS?
Can someone tell me the command to unzip a game into a folder so I don't have all these files in the main directory?
Try the Apogee games I posted earlier. So far I have the following working: - Wacky Wheels (a bit slow at times, but very playable!) - Commander Keen (works perfect!) - Commander Keen: Keen Dreams (works perfect!) - Commander Keen: Goodbye Galaxy (works perfect!) - Commander Keen: Aliens ate my Babysitter (works perfect!) - Duke Nukem (works perfect! And the Robocop things are still scary as f*!#) - Duke Nukem II (works perfect! I forgot how bad-ass this game is!)
Working on Eye of the Beholder 2 right now... Seems to be very smooth. Mouse tracking works well. Turned off sound, but no other tweaks.
How could you use more cycles than the cpu can produce? From the instructions: Amount of instructions DOSBox tries to emulate each millisecond. Set to max to automatically run as many cycles as possible. auto setting switches to max if appropriate. fixed nnnn Sets the emulated CPU speed to a fixed amount of cycles (nnnn). A value of 3000 equates 3 MIPS. If this value is too high some games will run too fast or crash. How high you can go depends on the power of your host CPU and on the selected core (above). If the value is too high for your CPU the emulation will slow down and the sound starts to skip. max Automatically sets the cycles so approximately the (optional) default%-value of your host CPU is used. If the value is not specified it defaults to 100%. The optional limit parameter limits the maximum speed to the specified value. auto For realmode games, this option switches to realmode default number of cycles or 3000 if not specified. When switching to protected mode, cycles is internally switched to max using the remaining optional parameters. Default is auto.
Armor Alley! I'm so excited that I got this before it was pulled. I spent half of my day today playing Armor Alley. Probably one of the best multiplayer games ever!
The Puzzlegame Pushover does run fine aswell. I only wish Warcraft would run a tad faster. Will try with dynamic core after work.
