Ok That brings up another question, how would I access Dig-Dug and Pac-Man, I'd really like to essentially experiment with these two apps so when I get home I can get serious with other old titles.

 

quick how to:

to get games to the ipod/iphone use the itunes filesync in the apps-tab
(you have to zip your gamefolder and and rename the .zip to .ZIP)

now drag it to the filesync window of idos

now start idos

in the idos app then you are in the c:/ directory

now type "dir" to show your files (and your game-zip-file)

lets say its called soccer.zip: just type "unzip soccer.zip" (this will take a while)

now you are back in c:/ and when you tipe "dir" again you will see a new directory called soccer

now type "cd soccer" to get into the soccer folder (c:/soccer)

you can now type "dir" again to show all files in it

often the file you are looking for is called "soccer.exe" or "soccer.bat"

now only type "soccer" to start the game


sometimes you also have to install it first... just look for the setup.exe or the install.bat or something like that and youre good to go

 

Looks like the file wasn't transferred to the c:\games\dizzy3 folder correctly. The original file is in the root directory with the correct file size, whereas the file in the c:\games\dizzy3 folder is only 21 bytes. Don't quote me on this, but from what I recall there may be a move function.

In the root directory c: try typing move dizzy3.zip c:\games\dizzy3

 

At work so i haven't had a chance to sync any games to it, but the first one I do will be - Super Solvers: Midnight Rescue!http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midnight_Rescue

The term "bricked" is so god damn overused. Bricked = dead. You get the apple logo, which means you can easily restore, which you already did.

you dont need to move it into the games directory!
works just fine in the c:/ directory

 

I can't get nesticle or jnes to work but I got fwnes emulator working but running an emulator within an emulator is terrible

type 'cd games' then type digdug or mspacman (whichever you want to launch.)

 

ok after a couple of hours I have one game installed. Warcraft 2. The problem being speed - this just lags like crazy. Is there anyway of making it run better? If not what spec games should i expect to run at a playable speed on this? Is there anyway of changing the speed? I tried changing the cfg file to show defaultcore=dynamic but coulddnt even get the App to load after that so changed it back to simple.

someone wrote it's available in the cydia store but you have to jailbreak your device first :/

 

Nor that I have successfully unzipped the game how do I remove the zip file from the dizzy3 directory. Can I just do it with file sharing or do I have to type something?

 

Holy crap, you're right. Root access without being jailbroken.

I've got ELDER SCROLLS DAGGER onto my iPod, and it appears when i type DIR in iDOS. However, when I attempt to run it, it tells me I have to install it first. How do I do that?
