Some of us are really old school. Type: md dizzyj copy dizzyj.zip dizzyj cd dizzyj upzip dizzyj.zip then run the name of the program, I'll assume dizzyj, by typing dizzyj
I can't believe that the people in the thread have completely ignored 3 confused people who don't know anything (I presume) about DOS. I, myself have already posted 2 messages where I have asked for a little help on getting the games to work, but no reply. Do I really have to beg for help? Will someone please explain how to get any DOS game to run on an iPhone 4? I don't know anything about DOS so please keep it simple. I will appreciate it a lot.
I posted a youtube video in the other thread that walks you through the basic commands. http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?threadid=71108
Hi, I managed to grab this before it got taken away. However, I have no past experience with DOS, or what I have to do to get games working, but i really enjoy old school games. So i have a few questions... 1) Where can i get games to play, and how would I proceed to put it in my iTouch. 2) How do I run said games? 3) Is there any games bundled with the app? These are pretty dumb questions but it looks like a really interesting app. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Never mind question # 2 as I see there is a video up now. Thanks Starjimaster!
I don't think this is true... or at least it has not been true with other apps I purchased that were pulled. Can anyone confirm that they synced their phone through iTunes and it actually *deleted* this app?
I love that game! I've been looking for a download but haven't found one. I had it on a floppy but lost it when I moved.
It's easiest to use DOS commands only on files in your current directory. If your zip file is in C:\, then run unzip while you're in C:\, not C:\games\dizzy3. If you want it to unzip there, you should copy the zip file to the target directory first. There may also be a way to unzip to a target directory without copying, but you'd have to figure out the appropriate switch. Typing "unzip /?" might tell you more about how it can be used. Basically, in your case, you'll have to type "unzip dizzy.zip" at the C:\> prompt. That will unzip the files into C:\>. If you wanted them somewhere else, you could say "copy dizzy.zip c:\games\dizzy3", then change to the C:\games\dizzy directory and unzip there.
1. Google is a good place to start looking. There are some free games here: http://boxerapp.com/games and here: http://www.rockstargames.com/classics/ and here: http://www.elderscrolls.com/downloads/downloads_games.htm 2. You're welcome. 3. There are 2 free games included: Ms. Pac-Man and DigDug.
Interesting definition of simple you have I have the same problem as some people here that i cant get the games to work or even to unzip them
I had to join toucharcade because of this. This is amazing! So glad I finally got a freakin app before apple pulled it. Seeing that C:\ prompt brought back all types of memories. Im so suprised I remember so many commands. These younger kids (im 27) dont know how good they got it. I actually have many original DOS/Win95 games still, but im most interested in emulators. So far I have tried Nesticle, and while it works its slow. Anyone with any other tries?
