My opinion on 2012 is that nothing is going to happen, I mean, the Mayas couldn't even see their own future (mistreated the environment and they started dying out, plus then the spanish came and it was just not going well for them). Solar flares? yeah right, Poles distortion? Mayans never mention anything like this. It's just the end of a cycle, like the hindus say that in 2 million years or so their cycle ends and people all die and then another 2 millin years alter they re=-appear (something like that, I'm not very into the whole hinduism thing, I respect it though). That's pretty much it, there might be a big boom somewhere but then there won't be anyone around to care....so why should we?
