Idea: DropZap as a two-player chess-like strategy game.

There's already a two-player mode in DropZap for the iPad/iPhone, but here's a different sort of two-player game that I'm thinking about.

Specifically, you have a single grid, with a player on each side. The game starts with pieces arranged on opposite sides of the grid. Unlike DropZap, rows are not inserted during play.

Unlike chess, a piece does not permanently belong to one player or the other. Rather, a player can "drop" the topmost piece in a column on his/her side to the other side. (The piece stays in its column.) The drop would be handled the same way as it is done now in DropZap.

The game ends when a player cannot make a move. The winner is the player with the most pieces on his/her side.

What do you think of this idea?

P.S. If you are unfamiliar with DropZap, see http://dropzap.com
