Thanks for the code. I left a review in the US app store as Chronology7 In my opinion, new songs database should be the main feature in the next update. Also, I think the developer need to clarify the "Appearance" feature in the game. I had a shock when I saw the price of it.
Codes are all gone now. Thanks everybody for all the comments, questions, suggestions and reviews. Any further feedback is of course more than welcome I sent a promo code to everyone who posted on the main game thread, as promised. After sending those codes, I had 4 codes leftover and sent them to the first 4 people who posted only on this thread - ianImex, warcrack, Creepshow and Ace_villaroya Apologies to armoko, bigrand1 and Awesomezome. I had no codes left to give to you guys. I'll announce the winner of the $25 gift card prize on September 14.
Thanks for the code. Reviewed as Heliotropist. The amount of content is a little sparse right now, but you have the basic infrastructure in place. Add some more songs, clean up the text and 2d effects and you should be set. And change the name, definitely.
iDancing with Stars U.S. iTunes: Creepshow2000 Thanks so much for this amazing and generous contest!!! 5-Stars Review: iOs 4.3 iPhone 4G iDancing feels like a game thats been missing from the app store with it's unique approach to the genre. All-original High Definition graphics really look gorgeous on the iphone screen with smooth animations. Being original, this game provides a very impressive gameplay layout and interface while doing it in style! I'd love to see a more varied set of music, but nevertheless iDancing delivers with it's beautiful custom rhythms. There are different game modes and tracks to play to progress and keep you busy for some time. iDancing feels like a solid entry and if you enjoy rhythm games, this one is going to the top of the genre! Thank you for developing this incredible title, I highly recommend it!
Reviewed as Feywood in the NZ app store; unfortunately, it's not a positive review. "The fundamental gameplay of iDancing should be familiar to anybody who has played a Tap Tap, DDR, or Guitar Hero-style game on iOS: symbols progress down the screen towards a row of circles at the bottom, and you tap the circles as the symbols enter them. While the game includes combos, it doesn't have the more advanced features that appear in most games of this type (activated multipliers, holds, etc.). The "hook" in this game is the dancing avatar (hence the title). Probably the most unique offering is the personal avatar you can have created to represent yourself in the game. Unfortunately, getting this made requires taking photos of yourself manually and sending them to the developers to manipulate, which they say can take upwards of two weeks. The appearance screen currently also suffers from a strange situation at the moment with regard to pricing: for the head alone, it costs $149; a head in HD is $299; and head & body together is $999. These don't gel with NZ IAP prices (even if you add decimal points to make them single-digit dollar amounts), so I would assume these figures aren't correct. The basic game game currently includes a male and female avatar, two stage backgrounds, and a mere three songs (royalty-free creations from Kevin MacLeod, and not quite the "variety of popular songs" mentioned in the app description). Each of the songs has allegedly had the character dance moves choreographed specifically for it, but given how long it'd take to expand the game this way, I can't help but feel that randomly-chosen moves that become more elaborate the longer you go without missing a beat would be a better path to take. If the developers could aim towards something similar to Rhythmatic's engine, which can generate Tap Tap-like patterns for any song the player has available, the game's potential would skyrocket. At the moment iDancing is ambitious, but fatally flawed, and needs some serious work before it can compete with the other games of this type on the app store. A lot more music, a better choice of font (something more stylish and stylised would be preferred over what appears to be a stock PC font), and a cleanup of the personal avatar feature are all high on the list of priorities."
Reviewed as Steven ChinWH in US app store. This is a very beautiful rhythm game with awesome animation. The selection of music track is ok. You can even customize your avatar and the appearance of your main character by sending your pictures to the developer via an IAP, at a premium pricing (>$100). One thing that really bothers me in this game is the wording of combos (romantic and itallic), please switch the current fonts to the font style shown in your last screenshots in iTunes. Overall, this game is very promising and I'm really looking forward to future updates. Good job!
We were supposed to review, right? I haven't redeemed yet as it said the guys who got the code will have chance. I'll review soon, but I still would like to know was it part of the contest.
Left a review in US iTunes store under agleung. ----- Most innovative game award. First and foremost, this is a music rhythm game. The graphics is rich. The gameplay is good. It tracks how accurate your tappings are and rate your accuracy with a final score and a 1 to 5 stars rating. It is not so much a dancing game in the sense that you are not controlling the dance moves with your taps. Currently there are only 3 songs available. There is a download button that says more songs will be available soon. The killer feature is the ability to animate your likeness in 3D with in app purchase between $149 to $999. There is a YouTube video that showed the animations which was excellent. I don't know how much artistic manual work is involved in digitizing your photo so I will not judge the pricing. Suffice to say that I believe most people will be put off by the high price. Since I have never played a game with my own 3D character, I give it the most innovative game award. (4/5)
I just tried on my Ipad but can't review on iTunes. The game does remind me of audition. I like the way the character moves with the music. But the pattern of the coins falling seems not in sequence. Maybe can make them move together with the motion of my fingers instead?
The winner of the contest is m13. Congratulations I've sent a PM about the prize. Sorry for the late reply LOLavi. Anybody who received a promo code for posting a comment on these forums was entered in the contest. Posting reviews on the App Store wasn't a requirement to be entered in the contest, but thanks a lot to everyone who did so
