I'm glad I'm not the only one who found the backgrounds troubling. It's a shame because I was looking forward to this and it just falls flat.
Yeah, I've honestly held off from posting as much as I could, but I too am really having a hard time seeing anything in the first level. Like, to the point that I can't even finish the first level. :/
hm, wow, thanks for the feedback you offer guys, one person is ok, but many comments about background problems.. i think i will hold off on this one, even if i was sure it's going to be one of my buys... I was really looking forward to it as the premium and balanced version of Gemini Strike
This is super frustrating for me. This game looked cool, but the backgrounds are crazy and the controls are bad. It also crashes constantly. All the time. I'm running it on a 5s, so that doesn't make sense to me. It also randomly pauses and, when I go to unpause, it closes out of the run. Very frustrating. I want to like it so badly, too. I'll keep my fingers crossed for good updates.
The word you are looking for is "aesthetic", not "ascetic". "Ascetic" means "practicing great self-denial". "Aesthetic" refers to the look or observed beauty of something. I can't let you go through life confusing the two, I just can't.
Really? Man. I guess every game gets at least one "instabuy" comment. I picked this up because I had a little extra iTunes credit in my account and was looking for a good new shmup, but this ain't it. This game is a cluttered mess with really bad controls and crappy graphics. In my option, insta-avoid.
I've yet to play more and get deeper with all this loot/upgrades to make up my final thoughts about this shooter, but some quick imps would be... The controls are definitely by far not as bad as the last few posts imply, imho of course. Not one crash on my 5s, version 8.2. Unfortunatelly i have to agree with this real dizzy bad background on level 1. Glad that none of the other four comes close to that one. Compared to all other sequels (i'm aware of), this seems to be the only one to step back two steps in the graphic department but therefor to invest in fleshing out the gameplay mechanics and possibilities with all these loot and upgrade stuff. Pity though, they restricted the ships movement to the bottom/top again, as in the original. I'm only at level 7, and i just died on the very long boss fight in stage 5, but i didn't have the required equipment and/or skills atm. Personally i'm happy with my support.
idk why you guys have so many problems with this game. for me it's all work nice. but yes, i agree with that, the game need some patches. we all know, the developer will be support this one to death.
Hey guys, thanks a lot for the feedback. I want to disclose that I wanted to do everything myself on this game as a personal challenge, so what you get is indeed programmer graphics and programmer music... as opposed to the first one where art was done by pros. I agree that it's a step back in the art department and I understand how you could feel deceived. In my defense, I would say that the low-fi graphics ensure a steady 60fps on the slowest devices supported Current plans for the first update are a fix for the ships that turn black in the menus, improvements to the clarity of the chapter I background and other small fixes.
Just to clarify, i'm getting along very well and dying is only my own fault and not due to the controls! And i forgot to say how awesome the music is here. Love it. There seem to be no credits, saying that all was done by one person. Chapeau.
Hey dev, Thanks for being involved in TA. I have only one issue with the game. It's the relative control scheme. It simply isn't sensitive enough for me and I keep frustratingly dying as a result. So much so that I've stopped playing. It's too frustrating. Is there any chance that you can either make it more sensitive of place a sensitivity slider in the options ? Billy
I haven't had any issues with the controls or background graphics. The things I'm not crazy about are the ship's movement restriction at the bottom of the screen (can't be moved all the way down) and the ship's relatively large size. Somehow these design features make the play area feel slightly cramped. For fans of rpg looting mechanics and customization, I'd definitely still recommend it. It's one of the few premium shmups that have implemented these features; it seems to be the most complex and varied in terms of all the ways you can customize your ship's weapons and skills.
Agreed. I've played this game a bit now and it's a good game. Maybe there are a few tweaks that could be made, but it is still a good game and worth $2.99 IMO if you like Shmups. I do appreciate the 60FPS cause I get no slowdowns on my 5S.
I really really want to like this game. I've put a decent amount of time into it, but I can't really say I love it. After playing it a few hours it's grown on me a bit, but aside from the first level being horrid, a big issue i have is during boss fight numerous times I have mistakenly touched the screen with another finger which zoomed me up to the top of the screen andontopoftheboss where I instantly died. I'll keep on trucking a bit though. For now I'd say it's a solid 3 stars.
