Could you give us a timer to continue when we close the options? That would be for easy only, of course.
Good news: TA just posted a front page review of the game! ^_^ Bad news: The review pretty much blows. X_X
Actually, I think it's fair. The lack of powerups and a visual hitbox are the 2 things that come up most in reviews. So they're my priority for the first big update, as I've stated earlier
The only bit that seemed out of left-field was Eli's comment about the finger blocking the ship. He clarified in the comments that he was talking about moving backwards to avoid bullets, but even then I haven't found that to be an issue. BTW, you should post in the comments to let people know what's coming in the next update. Many people just read the review and comments, and don't check out the game thread.
Hi i want to report a bug. Often i get a really good score that would rocket me up the leaderboard and the game gets a connection failed message when going to submit my score to the leaderboard. It completely forgets my score from then on. Maybe you should flag score submit as failed and try upload it again later.
Found a bug! This deals with continues. If you shut off the game hard (press home button without saving) you can always have 5 continues. Just thought I'd report it ^^
Thank you Healy! Please, never hesitate to report a bug I believe I have fixed this one in the update. : Did you update the game to 1.0.1 ?
Espgaluda II is way better and intense than this game but this game will be more successful and generates more sales than Espgaluda II simply due to the fact this game can be played on all iPhone/iPod Touch. Espgaluda II unfortunately limits to a small portion of iPhone 3GS/iPod Touch 3G user base. Words cannot express how crazy the amount of sprites appear on the screen at same time unless you actually see it on youtube.
I must say, being a long time shmup fan, seeing my game compared to such masterpieces as Espgaluda and Ikaruga just feels embarrassing Cave really decided not to release on older gen devices because it would have been around 20 fps I believe ... The amount of sprites as you said, is absolutely insane. It's really honest of them not to release an unplayable game on those devices. As for this influencing the sales, I have no idea. I hope you're right
Erm... I think I found a crashing bug. Whenever I try to "Continue", the game crashes This is the most up-to-date version, too. Is this just because I'm trying to continue a game from the older "harder" version, and it's conflicting with the code of this newer "easier" version? Appears I answered my own question. I started a new game and it continues fine now. I DID find an actual bug, though: I am not unlocking any awards. The only award I had unlocked before this update was "New Beginning: Complete Chapter 1". It was there when I checked after I updated, but after I played a round in this new version, it gave me a confirmation that I unlocked that Award, I checked, and it seems to actually have not given me it. It took it off for me, and it doesn't say I unlocked it anymore. Any idea what's going on there?
Something tells me this will become one of those games that will become better and better over time, to the point of almost seeming like a whole new game after a few months! One more suggestion - more variety in the backgrounds during each level would be nice.
Thanks MasterChief3624! I should have anticipated the first bug, thankfully it will only happen once. And so there's something rotten in the kingdom of Awards ... I had no luck reproducing it though, nor locating where it could happen... I'm still looking into it. Please let me know if it happens again.
It has happened three times now. I have gotten the confirmation for the Award, but I check the Awards screen and see that it doesn't have a star next to it. This happened with the Award for beating the game on any difficulty, as well. And of course when I wake up today, I open the app to see if the awards are unlocked, and they are unlocked now. I have no idea what's going on Just a very tiny bug. On a side note: Have not many people beaten the game on Easy or Regular and unlocked Hard mode yet? I got a pretty horrid score on Hard, yet I managed to make 5th place EDIT: Oh yeah, and I had another suggestion (I'm full of 'em ): In Chapter II, is there a way you could clear the bullets on the screen or do something to make some of them go away so that when I'm trying to maneuver through those little openings, I don't have to worry about accidentally dying from a bullet? Or is that the point of it, to see if I can go through the openings, while also dodging the bullets? It seems like that is a tad bit unfair, though
Alright, I'm at the point of asking for help/suggestions on getting past the Level 4 boss. I haven't used the practice mode for it, which may help. Anyone have any special techniques they'd like to share, or is it just a matter of memorizing the bullet patterns?
What exactly are you having trouble with? In its first attack phase, with the perfectly straight streams of bullets, try to get inside the diamond that they form when they cross each other. There's always a small area where you can just chill out while they're whizzing by you. When they're not intersecting each other, just try to stay out of the line of fire. Stay between the lines, if that helps you understand Here's an example of what I mean by getting between the intersections: In its second phase, there doesn't seem to be much method to the madness in its storm of bullets, but the main thing to focus on is maneuvering through it. Thread yourself through the bullet storm by jumping between big openings, and keep repeating this. Easiest way to think of this is like a maze. Try to think of it like a little bullet maze Hope this helps at least a little bit?
