iMAME+iCade are working perfectly fine with my iPhone 4S on iOS 7.0.2. In the options menu, check that you have iCade in the "Control Layout". The quick message you're talking is probably when you have your iCade connected, it asks you if you want to select iCade controls or iCP controls. If you don't select iCade, it will give you the "lost communication" message. I haven't had any issues with iCade games on iOS 7.
On ios 7, Plasma sky had icade bug, so it crashed, now icade is removed. I wonder if blazing star is the same problem cause it crashes. Any other icade games that are crashing on startup, or not working with icade with ios 7?
Sadly I don't have Blazing Star to try it out. However, I did try the following (iPhone 4S on iOS 7.0.2 + Nyko Playpad Pro in iCade Mode): iMAME, The Other Brothers, Table Top Racing, League of Evil 1,2, Heroes Of Loot, Meganoid, Jungle Crash, R.Type, Muffin Knight, Mega Worm, Ice Rage, Death Ray Manta, and Alien Breed. Happy to report that they all worked perfectly. I think the Plasma Sky issue is only related to it. Everything else is working flawlessly.
Haven't had time for icade or hdmi on ios 7, cause got busy with other stuff like trying games out and finding backgrounds, but look forward to seeing how games will run now on tv with icade.
If by iMame you mean Gridlee, it appears to be working just fine for me. (I panicked when I read you post, and rushed to try it. Played "ladybug", and it worked fine. Haven't done any further testing.)
No, I didn't mean gridlee. I downloaded iMAME the first time it got put into the App Store, long before gridlee. Still no luck for me with an iPad 3. Was there a trick to getting it to work originally that I don't remember?
Superstar Chefs Superstar Chefs (v1.11) is now updated with iCade support https://itunes.apple.com/app/superstar-chefs/id356175855?mt=8 Daniel Donut Games
Thanks! Yeah, we love the iCade ourselves so we try to add support to as many of our titles as possible, at least where it makes sense. Superstar Chefs was an obvious candidate. Daniel Donut Games
Well, guess this is a good time to take my hat off as icade ambassador since two people here on TA have been severely criticizing my icade posts. But I will always remember the good times in this thread, and I remember a time when it seemed like just me and Adams Immersive talking to each other in this thread, much like at one time, it seemed that it was just killercow and me talking in the HDMI thread. It's good that we finally got apple joystick support, which was kind of one of my intial goal, and ever since I have had an icade, helped get at least a game a week on icade. So, let's hope our icade's don't go extinct now, and I still plan to be active in apple joystick implementation here, and I still like my icade, and I wish all of our happy icade family here well. Take care. So long, From the Connector!
No com'on man! Your iCade/HDMI threads were epically good. I really learned quite a lot from them. And you know what man, haters are gonna hate. So do whatever makes you happy! iCade still has a huge collection of games on iOS, and the official iOS 7 controller will take some time to catch up to the number of titles for iCade games. I will still participate on this thread, and my focus is mainly on the new iOS 7 controller. Of course, HDMI gaming will still be alive, but as long as there is that noticeable lag, we can't really have good fun with it. Apple really needs to update it or update the firmware on that adapter. Anyways, it's always to have great members like you, Connector!
Well, I think the Samurai Shodown II thread is dead. What is the iCade Core layout for the game? I was thinking about grabbing it while its still on sale, but I want to make sure it's something similar to the original layout. Thanks in advance!
https://appshopper.com/games/galaxy-invader-1000 Galaxy Invader 1000 supports iCade according to app description and Retro Asylum podcast. Would be great if Rob Wilmot added support to his other VFD games like Astro Wars.
