It will cost around $30 local through this http://dx.com/p/ipega-pg-9017-wireless-bluetooth-3-0-controller-for-ipad-iphone-smartphone-android-ios-pc-172963
Well that's a much better deal than the iCade Core. Truthfully I think that this controller looks a bit better, although its probably because it had a more in depth review. Although I'm not sure how much you could get it for in New Zealand. Truthfully, I don't think you could really go wrong with either. If you're using it for iPhone instead of iPad gaming though, the Nyko may be a bit annoying since there isn't a iPhone stand/clip in. Either way though. I don't really know much about either, but I've been tempted to buy the Nyko, but I can't justify it because I already have 3 iCades (original, core, and mobile), and I really don't play with them as much as I'd like to (just don't have time).
Darn. Well the ipega looks like it should work alright though. You could ask who ever posted impressions. You can look in the 3 post of this thread, there's "Connectors Buying Guide" where he posted a link to the ipega impressions. Ask him if its worth it maybe.
Thanks, Laxking, the new list is great! And unlike the official Ion list it's all on one page so you can actually search for a certain title easily to see if it's compatible. I have an idea to make a web app that scrapes page one of the thread and adds 4 links for each title: one to search AppShopper.com, one to search these forums, one to search TA.com, and one to search the App Store itself. I probably won't get around to it
Ipega is awesome. I use it more than the icade. As long as you know it doesn't hold in portrait you're good to go
If you're from Australia, you can get the normal icade from JB Hi Fi for $133. It's really good if you have blutrol (for jail broken devices).
I suddenly really want to play Samurai Shodown on my iPad 1 with iCade. Anyone know if that is even possible? Is the Mame ROM any good? Will my iPad 1 be fast enough? Does it work well with iCade?
Thanks! That was enough to make me motivated to try the iPad 1 compatibility for myself, but apparently I am an idiot and I removed Gridlee from my iPad without backing up. Don't know if it's still in my Appstore downloads because the Appstore keeps crashing But! Then I found my old NeoGeo Pocket with the SS2 cartridge which is probably even better! Game is perfect and I am amazed how good a game can look on a 160x152 screen.
Report: just get the IPEGA, Temple Run and DU2 run like a charm. Query: how to make Blazing Star work?
Calling: anyone help, please? Statement: I do not understand why Temple Run 2 does not support iCade...
We should write and ask nicely for it! I plan to, now that the game isn't so new and maybe they have time to address details like that: http://www.imangistudios.com/contact.html
