iCade compatibility list/wishlist

  1. Oh, your line

A couple iCade-ready Universal apps seem to disable iCade support when running on iPad, though! Pix'N'Love Rush (sadly) is one.

Threw me off, guess you meant iphone instead of ipad.

I will download No Gravity for you now and let you know tomorrow how it works with icade.

  2. SNK games made by dotemu seem to all have icade support. Is KOF going to be made by dotemu? If so, probably will have icade support. If not, probably won't I figure. Would be a shame if it didn't. Kinda wonder sometimes if icade can really handle a game that is using 6 buttons simultaneously. There are no games right now that use 6 separate buttons are there?

  3. My only portal really is through Toucharcade. Guess cause I am one of the biggest posters, and I often have discusssions for improvements on games, a lot of them may know me in a sense.

Lately, I have been trying to help the icade cause just like I did with hdmi, cause I wanna see a world with an ipad or iphone as a console with joysticks.

Already got a huge interest in icade, but from my experience it takes about 3 months to see the interest here, cause people procrastinate on buying it and it takes them some time to start playing icade too.

So, I'm trying. Also, got 5 developers to commit to trying to implement icade in their games. At least try. But I am beta testing two, and both so far are going poorly. Since I don't have any idea how to implement icade, I kinda need a friendly developer who wouldn't mind help answer some basic questions, either that, or maybe I will try to outreach to Ion itself to see if they can help me and the other devs first.

But first, I need to get some kind of user support here first. If I get all these devs to spend time and money on implementing icade with only what, the 4 of us, Adams Immersive, Lost Deputy, ps309, and I to buy the game, it is pointless. Seems like we four are the only ones I see posting about icade.

Kinda felt like this way back with hdmi, felt all alone, but now many TA users have it or tried it. I was a little disappointed that icade has been out forever it seems, and hardly anyone has one. So I was skeptical about the icade core, seemed just like a toy, wondered even if the bluetooth keyboard weirdness would even work well.

But, I was shocked when I started to play. That stick is wonderful, and the icade core works wonders with hdmi tv. In fact, I like it better than any xbox of ps3 controller, cause it is fun.

Icade to me before just seemed like a toy for cabinet modz guys and such, but I was happy to see that the icade core joystick is more of a necessity not a toy.

But was kinda shocked, why were there no other icade core owners out there? I kinda felt alone once again. But it's ok, once we all spread the word, and I can convince maybe 5 of the elder TA members to get one, more people here will want icade.

Then maybe we can push hard for a developer to make a true Street Fighter game, and we can play it on icade.

    I have a dream. :D

  4. This game is funky...

Kind of like Robotron, but not really.

Cool concept and graphics (even though not close to ipad retina), but the controls are kind of lacking. The touch controls are like any dual stick, but they are not very sensitive. The icade controls are totally different, cause you can't aim where you are going to shoot.

    Both controls need some work.

But the concept is cool, and makes for a cool experience. You got to get the diamonds first to get the extra firepower, then destroy all the monsters. Very confusing at first, cause sometimes the ship seems to jump or disappear.

Anyway, worth a buck, and it is kinda cool in a lot of ways, but both the touch and icade controls are a little disappointing.

But overall, I would buy it again for a buck.

Oh riight. My bad. I thought it was the one team porting them across. I can dream can't I?

I've played Soulcalibur and a few titles via emus with 6 buttons with no issue

    Haha!

You're a good President dude that's for sure.

It will be interesting to see how this Ipega control goes. It will be the 2nd external control I will have used that taps into the icade pattern.
If more external controllers go down this path then that should be attractive for devs. A stack of control options for their games :)

  7. I have a dream. :D

But nothing 6 button or more with a icade core right? What is the closest to this on icade? Seems like 3 buttons to me so far.

We'd love to get "The Other Brothers" support the iCade at some point. We will have to look into that soon :)

  9. Thanks.

I am really hoping that the Gameloft Duo Gamer Joystick opens its protocols and becomes a standard that any developer can use.

It controls wonderfully, just like a xbox or ps3 controller. I kind of like it cause it is light. The two analog sticks are totally precise, not like icade, where movement seems clicky. The Duo Gamer works like a charm and could be a good second joystick to use hand in hand with an icade core. Especially for dual stick shooters, FPS games, and driving/motion games.

    I have a dream. :D

Yeah mate Street Fighter Alpha on Gridlee and Soulcalibur via blutrol both on icade work great with 6 buttons. Then all the SNK fighters on Gridlee are 4 buttons which also work sweet

  11. Looks cool, looking forward to it. If you could make the buttons invisible with icade and make sure it works well with hdmi, that would be appreciated. If you need any help, let us know. Game looks cool, screenshot attached.

Oops! Yeah, typed wrong. I'll edit my post to correct.

    And a more important correction:

I just now realized that for some reason, I ended up with BOTH the Universal and iPad-only Pix-N-Love Rush apps! Sure enough, I had the wrong one on my iPhone. Now that I've installed the Universal version on my iPhone, iCade is working :) Just skip the iPhone-only version. (I swear I ran into another Universal app that wouldn't accept iCade on iPhone, but for the life of me I can't remember... and I have about 100 iCade apps. If it exists, I'll stumble into it one day!)

P.S. I just wrote to Imangi to request iCade support in TR2 (TR1 is awesome with iCade, on both iPad and iPhone--although being portrait format, it wastes some screen space via HDMI).

  13. There you go again swapping ipad/iphone. See the bolded items. You are getting us all confused. Hehe :)

I have two iCades, so I want two-device multiplayer; haven't yet tested Table Top Racing but I do see a multiplayer option.

If you paired two iCades to one device, they would send the same control signals. Which I suppose could be done for sheer comfort (not having to crowd around) IF one person used the stick alone and one person used the buttons alone. (Forget-Me-Not has two-player support using a single iCade in that way: the buttons are like a cursor-key T-pad. Not aware of any other games that do that. Single-tap games could support a ton of iCades with one button each! Just promise not to cheat and mess with the other buttons...)

Actually the second one was correct: if you want to play Pix-N-Love Rush on iPhone using iCade, skip the iPhone-only version. It lacks iCade support. Install the Universal version instead. (There is no iPad-only version.)

  15. Awwww, that sucks, so we can't pair two icade cores for independent 2 player joystick fun. So goes my dream of playing Streetfighter Tekken on my ipad on hdmi tv with 2 icade cores.

Guess I won't be buying another icade core then. Guess one all all one needs.

Tabletop racing is great with the icade core. You could play multiplayer with others using your core. But there is a problem with picking cars right now, whoever has the better car will always win. I suggested a car select with even cars to the developer, he said he will put that in a future update.

Vectrex works great with the iCade, set up your iPad so that both players can see, then sync your iCades with two iPhones/iPads and set those to be controllers for the game running on the first iPad.
