To change between them its just different start up modes like they have already. I think it has ABX and start and ABY and start for the 2 different icade modes. I stick to ABX for the most part so I don't need to re-pair. Unfortunately yes you will have to un-pair and re-pair. I am really hoping the blutrol update with nubs support comes soon so I will be able to keep it in special packet mode for every game and map my own control over the top and ignore the icade mapping problems.
Unfortunately I'm not going to jailbreak. I think some of those hacks are cool, and I was jailbroken for a while, but it caused a lot of headaches unless you went minimal, and then I was stuck with old iOS firmware. When iOS 5 was out I unjailbroke and I'm not planning to do it again. Not worth it to me.
Each to their own, at least iCP supports unjailbroken phones now. When it first released it had no icade emulation and only thing that supported it was emulators. With blutrol I think its much more useful already, and when they figure out how to make floating dpads work and support the nubs, it will be perfect!

Fantastic work! Do those buttons basically piggy back the stock button connections? I'd love to mod my icade, even settling with one button on each side.
yeah, I just connected the additional buttons to the stock buttons, so they do the same what 4 of the stock buttons do... but having them on the sides allows you to play pinball how it's supposed to be greetings MJFox
yes, a great piece of software, makes almost every game with touch-controls compatible to the iCade greetings MJFox
How does Zen feel playing with icade/blutrol with regards to lag? is there any noticeable lag? I ask because I recently tried to play Zen over airplay and it was completely unplayable. Airplay lag is a lot worse than bluetooth granted but it made me realise just how one to one the controls need to be with pinball games.
Havent tried with Zen. Other games work perfectly assuming they require 1, digital D-pad as opposed to an analogue one 2, the D-pad isn't adaptive (unlike the one e.g. in GTAIII, which is currently almost unplayable).

I'm happy to report that Phoenix HD will support the iCade in the upcoming update (which will be submitted soon). Same goes for classic Phoenix.
Haha, well it was our stance at the time, so 'wrong' is a big word. I just did a quick write up about the implementation, for those interested in dev talk
