SoulCalibur (or any other big fighter) is on my wishlist. Moreso this one, since it's the only Universal fighting game.
I got my replacement iControlPad and the d-pad and buttons I'm able to test seem to work fine on this one... but the left analog stick isn't doing anything, and I'm pretty sure that with the one I had before it acted as a d-pad as well. Is that not the case? Could someone with an iCP test this out for me? Also, what's the game that directly supports the iCP and uses the analog sticks? I would like to get that if for nothing else then to test out the analog nubs and make sure they are working. In any case Caverns of Minos plays great with an iCP. Now I can couch game more easily. Of course it won't work so great with an iPhone attached to an iCP - I wish the game supported landscape view. Also I found that Super Crate Box actually works with it... the problem is that the jump and shoot buttons SCB uses map to the select and start buttons, which isn't exactly usable. LOL. Hopefully the SCP folks get an update out quick that makes it use alternate buttons that match up better for the iCP. Muffin Knight was completely unplayable. The mapping there is really bizarre.
I've never been able to use left stick in iCade mode, so its not broken, but I'm fairly sure that in standard mode the emulators use left stick as dpad (cant test as still waiting for 4s JB) The game you are looking for is vertex blaster http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/vertex-blaster/id453873865?mt=8 to test your sticks out or as I said, emulators. I really wish devs allow for remapping of iCade buttons around as a lot of translations for iCP are terrible. if you go to iCP forums you can find a new (test 2.2) firmware for the iControlpad which had a different iCade mapping as well as the original layout, so maybe give that a try to see if it works any better, also you get an onscreen keyboard with start and select so you dont need to disconnect to type. If that doesn't work I suggest jailbreaking for blutrol as you can use it to overwrite existing icade profiles in apps as well as add it to non-icade apps
I grabbed Vertex Blaster. Thanks. I'll test it out tonight - unfortuntely I don't have the iCP with me here. Also, do you know if it's possible to remove the push-pin for the clip once you have put it in? I want to change it's position because the clip is so tight with the iPhone in place that it's scraping the side of my case. Hopefully there's a way to get that thing back out again.
Have any imame users out there been able to get the games after burner or enduro racer going? They're on the list of supported games but I'll be damned if I can find working versions of them for imame. Too bad. They're both pretty good games. Chances are they just won't work with it but if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.
It'll happen soon. Honestly, I don't know why iCade controls work in my test builds but not in the App Store builds. I haven't announced it here yet, but I'm working on a sequel to Cavorite. Since the new game is so close to public beta, I'm going to kill two birds with one stone and see if I can't resolve a couple lingering issues (iCade, iPad gamepad layout) while the new game is tested. That way I can update the original and release the sequel issue free from the start.
Blutrol... Didn't want to jb... But was going to for mame... Then i got mame off app store... Then wasn't going to jb, except i read about blutrol... So i finally did it... Fast and painless... Ipad2 and od 5.01 Blutrol is pretty slick. Also ifile is great. I always like to see actual file structure.
Blutrol is amazing! tried it today and it works great! if you don't mind to jailbreak and have an iCade or an iControlpad you should really check it out, you get a huge amount of new games that you can play with your iCade/iCp greetings MJFox

Llamasoft... Caverns of minos is decent, kinda funny, reminds me of my old atari 800 games. While not slick graphically....it is fun. With blutrol... Check out. Space junk!!!!! And Lander Hero. Great on icade/blutrol. Oh... Jetpack joyride is cute with icade too... Others ? Suggestions? Im downloading. Soul caliber as i type this. Spectre is also kinda neat.
still haven't tried jetpack with icade. Soul calibur works wonders with blutrol. Playing it with icade is so much fun. and off i go to check space junk and lander hero. xP
To jailbreak or not... First, is there even an easy and reliable jb for ipad 2 with ios 5 yet? Second, I'm surprised that NamcoBandai isn't including icade control in this, since they've already released PacMac with it. Hence, you would think that they're on the icade bandwagon now instead of forcing people to jailbreak their device to just to get their preferred control scheme. Seems silly, but then again so does most of the world today to me Third, If I jailbreak will everything currently installed on my ipad still be there afterwards?
Back up to itunes first. Yes, every thing was still there. Yes easy reliablr jb.... Search absinthe poisi0n. Small download. I unzipped it, ran it waited until it was done...about 20 minutes total. I used pc version. Worth it for blutrol alone.
Some games... Recently. Spider man hd.... Seem well suited for icade. Its on sale today for .99 cents, i just bought.... But the joy stick does work well at all? Any ideas why? In order it get it to react at all... I have to stir the joy stick in a circle. It seems like a good pair but? I had this on another game i tied too. Any ideas? On blutrol... What is the significance of the joystick button size in blutrol?
Now that I've jailbroken... what do I do?! Sorry, but I'm a noob about this stuff. Where do I find Blutrol, and hopefully some other stuff?
