Shot two videos of playing several Commodore 64 games with iCP under the new version of the C64 emulator: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kbb2JV2mfto (Uridium, Paradroid, Impossible Mission and Wizard of Wor; disregard the very short Archon part at the end as I forget to upload the button hacks in there; they're already present in the next video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxA_hDaZ6bw (Archon 1 and 2)
Fantastic News... ....I just got an e:mail from Steve Wilcox at Elite saying the Elite ZX Spectrum App now has iCade compatability. C64 two days ago, Speccy now - I must dust down my Dragon 32. Well done, Steve.
Yep thats great news. I'm also hoping (and presuming) that their next app (Elite Collection) hopefully will have it as this features classic 8 bit games from a variety of platforms. Hopefully it'll be out soon-ish Dragon 32 ! You poor man ! You must have had a hard time in the 80's with all the kids having a Speccy or C64
My dad did get me C64 in the end but still happy memories of Cuthbert goes Digging. One of my pals had an Oric. Happy dayz. Can't wait to see those emulators in the AppStore.
Hopefully someone will review what it's like on the icade, because I tried the iphone version a while back and remember not liking the controls.
Just had a good go on retro dust hd and can confirm it plays very well with icade. I'm using the joystick + thrust option so rotating with joystick with a button for thrust, fire and shield. Have firing set to semi auto so holding the button down. Theres an arcade mode which is basic asteroids and an invasion mode which is basically a combined asteroids/space invaders mode ( the dev must see space invaders in his sleep! ). Theres also a timed mode which I haven't tried. Well worth the £1.49 I think. Theres also an IAP for 2 more modes/ skins etc which I haven't bought yet.
If it hasn't been mentioned yet. The Blocks Cometh will have iCade support in our next update. We're also supporting iCade with our upcoming Super Crate Box iOS port! We love the iCade and want to continue to support it!
Air Attack HD has just added support. Only 69p so bought it right away, after playing for 5 minutes I'm very impressed, seems like a quality 1941 type shooter but with great graphics. Things are really picking up for icade now.
Fruity The Snake HD with iCade support We are HUGE fans of the iCade at 22Moo and have bought every game that supports the iCade !! Two days ago we released our first game with iCade support "Fruity The Snake HD" which is a remake of the classic addictive game - Snake ! http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/fruity-the-snake-hd/id482494987?mt=8 Enjoy
Just got my icade and really like it. Question, are developers allowed to put an in game icade menu button for settings? I know that they can't list it in the app description. I am asking because there are a couple of games that don't have the best menus and it would be nice to just get icade working from a menu. Also...I am really hoping for some good two player, alternating high score games that actually save local high scores.
do a search for iCade in the iTunes store and you will clearly see there is no rule against mentioning it.
Okay. I wonder why more Devs don't list it in their app description, it would make them easier to find.
In iCade developers resource is this: "... guidelines for application to pass submission to the App Store. 1. In your Application Description for the App Store there can not be mention of the iCade hardware. Ion will be providing links on the official iCade website to the apps that include iCade controls. 2. Use of iCade wordmark can not be included inside your application. If your application includes user selectable control methods, merely call out the iCade control set as “Arcade”. This rule makes me laugh See the description of Katana Jack on the Appstore. There is a photo of the iCade : http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/katana-jack!/id461658678?mt=8
