Is there a process to connect the icade to flashback? I have it but cannot get the controls to work. I loved this game and have a boxed snes version.
according to the developer, TorpedoRun seems to support the iCade too (didn't try it, so I can't confirm) regards MJFox
Just make sure it's bluetooth'd up before you start. Just move the joystick to ge rid of the onscreen controls. Hit bottom left bottom to get past the intro. I hope the Manomio guys get that C64 one done soon too.
Hi Just to confirm that V1.1 of TorpedoRun is iCade and ICP compatible. Currently only V1.0 is available on iTunes, 1.1 is pending application acceptance. Should be no more than another day or two.
Just tried the No Gravity update and intial play test on mission 1 confirms that the update is working with no problems so far. Many thanks to the devs for fixing the issues with the icade connection. Just to confirm I have a first gen ipad running 4.3.5 and update is running fine. Also Plum Crazy update working with Icade as well. In my opinion Plum Crazy plays better with the Icade connection as I didn't get on to well with the touchscreen controls. The Icade controls work great and for me has improved this app no end.
Nice...Next realtech game to get the iCade support will be IronFist boxing. but it s going to take a little while as we have to totally redo a new control system... probably after iOs5 get released.
ok, everything should be updated now. excited to try out no gravity now - i have been waiting for the issues to be ironed out before purchasing. .
I just ordered my iCade and I’m buying some games that support it! I really hope to see a pac-man game soon!
I emailed the developer of the Spectaculator (Spectrum ZX emulator) and got the following response: Hi, Thanks for your e-mail. Yes, iCade support is planned shortly Best Regards, Jon. -- Jonathan Needle Spectaculator Creator http://www.spectaculator.com/
The devevelopers of iStriker said that iCade support will be in the next update : http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=92745&page=3 And iStriker is free this weekend... go go go
I've followed TravisR2H's lead and emailed Capcom to see if there is any possiblity in capcom arcade getting Ipad and Icade support and also Gamlab to also see if Roswell fighter Hd will be getting Icade support. If I get a response I'll let you guys know.
Funny, because I sent an e-mail to Elite last week on the same topic for their Spectrum app. Haven't heard back from them yet.
iCade on sale at Futureshop (Canada) Hey everyone, Just wanted to let those who are lurking and reading this thread in anticipation of picking one up some day... well if you're a Canuck, now's the time, the iCade is $20 less right now, $79.95 at Futureshop. I picked one up, won't have the chance to try it until next week sometime, but really looking forward to it; thanks for this awesome thread. Rob
Saw this news today, an official Atari Arcade joystick for iPad. looks like a simpler version of the iCade. I wonder if this will encourage more support for iCade or will it make the whole issue more complex by employing a different control method?
I'll likely support it one way or another, but if it uses the same "I am keyboard" hack as the iCade it'll be a pain to do that automagically unless it uses entirely different keys. There's really no such thing as an "iCade compatible" mapping unless the buttons are laid out exactly like an iCade (looking at you, iControlPad). I'm hoping it'll be an Apple-approved MFi device with a proper SDK to be honest. Emulating a keyboard has a host of inherent problems. Edit: Noticed the official website shows a "Made for iPad" mark. So a native SDK is almost a certainty. Edit 2: That is, if Atari opens it up to other devs (though I'm sure someone will figure it out even without Atari's help). It'd be a real shame if it only works with Atari's app.
Ah, thanks for the link. I see this one uses the 30-pin connector, so it'll be portrait only. And damn is that one cheap and fuggly design, could they have made it look any tackier?
Yes, if it looked like this: http://wickedretarded.com/~crapmame/11.html Oh wait, this one's even better! http://wickedretarded.com/~crapmame/28.html
I actually think the Atari stick looks pretty slick. Takes up minimal space when not in use. I could see having one on my desk at the office for the occasional gaming break.
