I think Gameloft makes alot of fantastic games, but which ones are hit or miss to you

The only Gameloft game that I've enjoyed for more than 5 minutes is Uno.

 

games that i have:

assassins creed: great game with very long story mode but control problems make platforming and puzzle solving very frustrating. cheesy voice acting. 8.5/10

blades of fury: good graphics. gameplay is okay and story modes arent that good. terrible voice acting 6.5/10

gangstar: a very good free roaming game with many missions and a huge city for an iphone with only one(long) load time, but running around the city loses its flavor after a while. 8/10

hero of sparta: nice graphics, but gameplay is just walking into arenas and pressing the attack button over and over again 5/10

modern combat: has a decent campaign and good multiplayer mode (for those that can actually play it). one of gameloft's best voice acting. 8.5/10

 

I've mostly enjoyed Dungeon Hunter so far. Blades of Fury and MC: Sandstorm were pretty good too. The rest were mediocre.

 

Gangstar is okay, pretty much a less fun version of San Andreas (So it's GTA IV ).

Skater Nation is pretty good, controls are frustrating though.

Modern Combat is fun. Probably the best of the GameLoft games.

Blades is exactly like Soul Calibur, except there's too much text and it gets annoying.

Hero of Sparta is just like God of War but it's too repetitive.

So none of them are overly great .

 

Im really tired of people using the fact that the iphone is technically a phone as an excuse for bad games. We have all seen what the iphone can do so why do people constantly resort to that. I'm not saying gameloft games are bad, I like them most of the time, and judging by the hype around driver and NOVA i doubt Im alone.

 

I have almost all gameloft games which I bought and love every single one of them .. been their fan since I've played Ghost Recon in my old ngage ..

funny though, how in the earth all these gameloft haters know that most of gameloft game suck? Did they really purchase those games from a company that they hate? I mean, logically, you wouldn't bother to bought something that you already preset in your mind to be a bad game .. If you know that the game will most probably suck because it come from Gameloft, and yet you still bought their games over and over, I think that's pretty stupid, pardon me for using that word ..

So, my conclusion is, all the gameloft hater here is probably bought one or two gameloft games that doesn't suit them and make their mind out, the rest is coming from reading a review, or, maybe they just download the cracked version of the games, which in other words, the games that they stole from gameloft ..

try to spent some money, bought the game then you'll see the money that you've spent on GL games actually well spent off .. It's actually unfair of you to ask more that what GL currently offer .. to me, Gameloft might not the best super duper developer on the world .. but almost all their games in appstore is in right quality in comparison of their prices ..

 

I bought a whole lot of Gameloft games on thanksgiving weekend, to try them out, and i played through Modern Combats lite version, trust me, i know what im talking about.

I don't like cheap oreo knockoffs......how do I know?....I tried them....guess what?...not my thing. So I try the knockoff chips ahoy, and the knockoff zebra cakes....just not the same....after trying about ten knockoff sugar loafs, I decided.....I wanted some real oreos....

 

Yes I played Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell Chaos theory on my Taco Ngage and it's one of the best mobile games I played ever.

 

Like I said, gameloft is not the best developer in the word, but almost their games is in RIGHT quality in comparison to their price ..

in your case you actually bought them at 99c and yet you ask for more .. not too mentioned most of the games offered during Thanksgiving is an old GL games .. so if you really want to justify your opinion on this basis, you have to take yourselft back in time when the games is actually being released ..

and what's wrong with Modern Combats lite version anyway?

I know that 'prettier' game doesn't justify a good game, but an ugly game will definitely not worth even at 99c, dont you think?

 

it was dull and frustrating, thats what was wrong with it. Now i admit, ive never been a fan of FPSes in the first place, but i did at least have SOME fun with Eliminate.. so i know that i CAN enjoy them... but not one as depressingly stale and typical as Modern Combat.

As for your point that they were old games, none of the new games interest me, save maybe Skate Nation, and i wanted to wait until the price went down. Maybe ill have good things to say about it when i DO play it, i dunno.

 

Assuming that what you mean here is trying by purchasing (not stealing someone cookies), I think normal people tried once, twice, or thrice (from the same company/publisher) .. and if still fail, they should look for an alternative ..

Eliminate is more of the frantic style of quake/Unreal Tournament while Modern Combat is more slower pace like Ghost recon, it's a matter of taste which one is better.

 

of course you enjoy eliminate more that mcs, because it's multiplayer and your playing againts real people instead of an AI ..

but I'm waiting for a fix to mcs multiplayer update .. if they can make it right in the next update, you should probably get that one .. its going to be a lot better than eliminate, and this is coming from me, who actually spent more more than 20 dollar on energy cells ..

 

I guess that's true... but what i liked about Eliminate wasn't the pace, although it WAS exciting... it was the fact that i could buy different weapons and armor to customize myself with, and everything has upgrades in addition to that. I wish more FPSes had depth like that, just shooting things gets old quickly..

Hell with the hype you groupies pour on them, it's a wonder I stopped there. That's half the reason I loath them. The games don't come NEAR their supposed "greatness". I HAVEN'T bought one since crapstorm. Mediocrity is just not enough for me.
