I spent $1,000 on Angry Birds Evolution and didn't get anything good.

Lickzy is right, Evolution is not a good game to spend money on. But it's a pretty good game. If you like hunting for loot, and upgrading your team, then you should have a fun time. There's plenty of action, in short bursts I suppose.

Totally reminds me of this story about MLB player Mike Trout:

    (clip from the article)
...the funniest story comes from former Angels pitching coach Mike Butcher, who is entering his second season as pitching coach of the Diamondbacks.

“Mike loves video games, and he used to play my son in an online game called ‘Clash of Clans,’ ” Butcher said. “Mike was winning, and my son asked him why he had so many weapons and tools. Mike said, ‘You’ve got to spend some money if you want to play with the big boys. Use your dad’s account.’ The next day I get a receipt that shows $1,500 in charges. Fifteen hundred dollars! I thought somebody hacked my account. I go to my son, ‘What is this all about?’ And he says, ‘Mike Trout said I needed these.’ I see Mike later that day, and he’s just laughing. He’s really this great big kid who’s always having fun. He hasn’t changed a bit.”

Geez I hope you guys never enter the audience of a high-stakes poker game or something. How will you refrain from calling everyone idiots for just throwing away THEIR money on something useless like that when they could have spent it the way that you would find more acceptable? You know the money that belongs to *not you* that you for some reason have so much interest in that you would stoop to name-calling and insult to someone you know as much as one post can tell you about.
Not that this would do anything but fan the flames of hatred, but for all you guys know the guy just sold a couple million dollars worth of stocks, and maybe he donated a huge chunk of that to charity and set his family up with most of the rest, buuuut he happened to spend a grand on a whim in some game when he was bored. That's all you need to hear to either insinuate or flatly call someone "stupid". I wish there was someone honest enough to state their actual intentions when posting things like that.

"Well, the guy obviously has a lot of money and I drive an '88 Toyota Cressida packed full of kids, I'm jealous that I can't piss away $1,000 like that."

    That would be so refreshing.

I....I like you. What's this rational thinking you bring to the table?!

Seriously tho. Hobbies are just that. Something to spend money on and pass the time. The dude has money to spend, awesome. Good for him. Why on earth should that bother people?

Thank for your comments, I appreciate them. I believe thet everyone works hard for their money and are entitled to spend it how they want. Despite having some buyers remorse, I can take satisfaction in knowing that the money wasn't spent in a self destructive manner, all my bills are paid and I didn't hurt anyone.

As for what I do? Unemployed. Lost my job as part of a restructure and I'm enjoying a summer off to myself and my family.

PS: I have never received a dime from anyone and support myself with money that I've saved.
PPS: Spend less than you make and you will always have money
PPSS: I do have a side business and anyone with connections to live entertainment (Concerts, venues, festivals) feel free to inbox me to make some very easy cash:)

Sounds like a lot of jealous people in this thread. Just because TC has more money to spend on his hobby then you do doesn't mean you can shit all over him.

But then again this doesn't surprise me coming from this community.
