Okay, first off I need to say that the only iOS installed on my computer is 5.0.1. So how can I update to 4.3.3? I'm thinking this since a LOT of new games are requiring 4.3 instead of 4.2 (on a 4th gen) like for example GTA III. Is there any safe way I can download 4.3 off the internet (like from apple) or would i have to go straight to 5? I really don't want 5 since I've heard it's buggy. Also: If there IS a way to get to 4.3, how would the updating work? Would it have to delete all my apps and reinstall them with the new OS, or since it's an updated iOS (not a brand new one) would it be really fast?
Apple only officially offers 5.0.1. But there's some backlogs of iOS that you can download. A quick internet search offered me this site, but I cannot test it, so you're on your own there. Hopefully it works for you. Once you download the specific firmware, I think you can right-click "Update" when looking at the iPod page in iTunes and choose the option to find a specific file to update from on your computer. Direct it to use the file wherever you saved it.
Is there anyone else that can help with this? Whether there's a legit site that can get me this? Also whether or not it'll make me re-load all my games onto it again [taking the time of iOS 5]. Thanks!
Well, you're welcome, anyway, for trying. Like I said, Apple only officially offers 5.0.1. You're gonna be hard pressed to find a "legit" site, whatever you mean by that, that will allow you download of actually functioning obsolete firmware.
What I meant by "legit" was pretty much a "the actual, working operating system and not a virus" type thing... Also, I wasn't trying to diss your help...
Well if that won't work....Should i update to iOS 5? I've heard it has a lot of glitches, but I dunno... Also: is there a way (also known as :SHOULD I) to delete iTunes and download an old iTunes with iOS 4.3 as the one it sends over? Or a way to reverse an iTunes "upgrade"?
