So I just got an HD PVR (Made by Hauppauge and used on my Xbox 360) and everything works all I want is to be able to record in HD. Is there any way possible to do this without losing your HDMI cord? Please help!

    -Thanks :)

Whaddya mean, without losing your HDMI cord? As far as I know, the Hauppague can only do Component cables, if that's what you mean. It won't be 1080p, but 720p's good enough for YouTube anyway.

the only reason I got the Hauppague was because a LOT of people said it would let you record while you have an HDMI cable in your xbox or in other words you can record while playing in 1080p

The title of this thread suggests a far more dramatic post than what you wrote

And this is why you read the specs of anything before buying it on what others say.

Uh, gimme one official Hauppague site that said the HD PVR could do HDMI and I'll eat my words.

Nevermind, I'll just prove it here and now. Here at Hauppague's official site, there is a diagram of the HD PVR and descriptions of the connectors. No HDMI-in in sight. Just component, composite, and s-video as well as optical audio.

So what you'll need to do is get yourself a set of 360 Component Cables and the HD PVR will record in either 1080i or 720p, or anything below that if you want. It'll look perfectly fine on YouTube; heck, recorded TV through the HD PVR looks great on burned discs.
