So I was playing around with my phone today and I really love the way Folders keep you organized but they look so gay. I've pretty much gone back to having all my apps on a screen. Here is a suggestion Apple, let us import our own placeholder image icon onto the folder instead of having mini app icons.
The point of the mini icons is to see what you have in the folders..It'd be retarded if it was just a solid image. So you'd just take a wild guess at what you have in each folder? Slightly impractical.
Well no because if one had a camera on it, and was called "photography" I would assume it had all my photo apps on it, and the same with games, news etc.
Yeah but if you had lots of games you'd had to guess which game is in one. Unless you put like 'Racing' or 'Shooters' (Which is what I do). Even then, you might need more than one and have like 'Racing 2' but then you'd wouldn't know which racer is in which. EDIT: Will this be another thread Aussie starts but doesn't reply?
Well sure that's what labels are for, but replacing the folder icon with a solid image defeats the purpose. And it'd be an eyesore.
3rd icon in dock: Utilities, 4th icon in dock: Games. Aussie is right, the Apple ones, however practical, are fugly as hell.
Wasn't even going to respond to this but since I've just started using the folders option and think it is a fantastic way to organize my games and apps and space saving besides. I hate clutter and unorganized games and now have listings of each genre. I'm more for functionality then cosmetic appearances when using the folders and fairly happy with this option. To the OP: You love the folders but won't use them because they are "gay" looking? ......not even commenting on that statement.
If folders allowed more than a set number of apps then they'd be clutter saving, but having "FPS1", "FPS2, "FPS3" is more or less just as messy as having your apps displayed in aphabetical order.
Yep, I have to agree on the limit for each folder is at a minimal. Still though, I'd rather have a couple of folders with listed names than scrolling though page after page after.. I get them so cluttered with each new game installed and then to organize them is something that makes me completely livid. So its keeping my sanity intact for the most part.
just name the Folders Shooter A-C, Shooter D-F etc. then you know what shooters are inside. or something like that.
It's funny, because today my sister said to me "Whoa, what are those things, they're awesome!". (She's on 3.1, she doesn't have folders)
