Kamikaze, you're right about freeze circles, they are totally key. Are you on the leaderboard yet? I'm slowly getting better with the secret power, but it's taking a lot of practice. Turns out endless mode is the perfect place to experiment with it. aeiowu, the sound you made at the end of your video made me crack up. Every single time I play endless mode, I make some sort of involuntary sound at the end. And it usually rhymes with duck.
Ok - ignorant here. What is the Secret Power? What are the other power ups u are writing about? Ignorant, yes - just looking for help to enjoy this game even more
The secret power and endless mode are both hidden within the game. I think endless mode is only available to look for after you've beaten 90 levels. It's a hidden-in-plain-sight sort of thing. And the secret power is super hidden. I managed to find it after using Kamikaze's clues for the ciphers. Kamikaze has hints and solutions (for when you give up on the ciphers) on page 15, I think. As far as I know, there is only the one power.
Look here. But I would really encourage you to try the ciphers and discover the other things for yourself before looking at the solutions and methods for obtaining them.
I accidentally removed Hundreds from Gamecenter, but was able to refresh it and still have all of my progress and achievements show as unlocked. However, All of the crazy concentric circles are now gone from the main screen and I'm left with the plain white circle, and it seems like I can't unlock the secret power even though I've already put in the solutions for all of the ciphers. Any ideas on how I might be able to unlock the power? The only levels I have yet to complete are 89 and 100, so I can't test out if completing a new level will somehow reset or refresh that progress.
I was frustrated when I was between level 30 and 40. I played some more and contrary to what I thought the difficulty did not continue to go up and up. I actually found 40-60 easier and more interesting than 30-40. Possibly because I just really suck at those saw-thingies.
Back on top (for now) with 2,696. Anyone know what exactly is required to get the Endless Sprint achievement?
Even though I didn't bring this topic up, I thought I'd give some input. I prefiously assumed that the Endless mode achievements were just for specific scores - 500, 1000, 1500, 2000 - I didn't notice that one of them was actually for 600 in 60 seconds - so first of all thank you for bringing my attention to it. After reading about this achievement, I focused on it and succeeded just a moment ago. Note that I'm on an iPhone 4S: If you have the secret power, deactivate it. You don't have time for any planned use of it and you don't want more chaos than necessary. (iPhone only) Even though you might usually play with your iPhone in your hand and tapping with one hand, you should lay it down on a table for this achievement and use the index and middle fingers of both hands to grow circles. Grow circles as fast as possible - don't care too much about growing every circle a little bit (what you would usually do in endless mode to keep the field clean). Once your score is >600, end the game immediately - the achievement is not rewarded once you hit 600 points but once you end a game with a score of 600 or higher within 60 seconds of starting it. That's kind of sneaky. Now there's only one achievement left for me Done. https://twitter.com/Kamikaze28/status/289049211889123329/photo/1
A QUESTION: I've read around here that this game is much easier to play on an iPad than on an iPhone, and that's the recommended way to play it, BUT, can anyone tell me if this game is playable on an iPad 1? I don't mean, will it it literally launch and run, but rather, seeing as though the game requires uber-quick reflexes and responses times, can the iPad 1 keep up with the demands of the game, or is too sluggish? Thanks.
Cryptography, etc. iPhone vs. iPad: I prefer to play a game on my iPhone when possible...but this game seems a lot less enjoyable on the small screen (as others have pointed out). Just out of curiosity, is there anyone who has the ability to play this on both iPhone and iPad but who thinks that there's something genuinely enjoyable about playing it on iPhone...? Cryptography: Love Semi Secret. Love the game. Love cryptography. I still wish that the cryptography elements felt a little more integrated. It feels like a game with some extra puzzles attached as an afterthought. Others have commented that they wish they didn't have to do a lot of outside research to complete the game. I don't mind the research -- but if the game is going to include cryptography puzzles, I wish it felt like it was better equipped as a "puzzle-solving tool." Perhaps there could be a cryptography module in which you could switch to different kinds of ciphers, read a brief statement about how they work, then use a specialized tool that enables you to employ that cipher. As it stands now, the interface is so poorly equipped for problem solving that even *after* you've solved a puzzle, using those spinners to type in your guess is excruciating...! At the very least, as others have commented -- creating some slick way to do substitutions that doesn't involve flipping each letter individually would be so much more effective. Scores on high levels: I don't mind how painful the last few levels are. But I think they'd be even more fun if you could see what your score is. Level 100 is plenty challenging regardless. And even if you *knew* that your score was 98...it'd still be exciting, maybe even more so, as you struggled to get those last two points. Even if you decided not to show the score during the game, it seems like it would be at least worth showing your score after you fail...? Great work, Semi Secret!
I'm sort of stuck on levels 40 and 41. I completed both levels several times but I cannot access level 42. Do I need to comets levels in a certain time or with a certain score to advance? A bug perhaps?
Are you relying on the "Next Round"-button? Try selecting round 42 manually in the grid selection. The button should change to "Start Round" and you should be able to progress further.
