This should help.

From your Computer
1. Open iTunes. Go to the main page (it should open by default)
2. In the upper right under "quick links" is a "redeem" option. Click on it
and enter the code.

From iPhone/iPod touch (requires OS 3.0)

From iTunes App
1. Open the iTunes app.
2. Select the "music" tab at the bottom.
3. Scroll all the way down.
4. Tap the "redeem" button and enter the code.

From App Store App
1. Open the App Store app.
2. Select the "featured" tab at the bottom
3. Scroll all the way down.
4. Tap the "redeem" button and enter the code.

 

Yes, you see, the instructions for using a promo code are rather complex. Each number represents 1-3 letters, vice versa each letter may/may not represent 1-4 numbers. go to itunes home and look for "redeem" tab on the top right side. click it and put in your redeem code and enter your password and voila... your game is downloaded.
