Hello, I'm fairly new here. I'm a developer at Fraoula, an indie mobile games developer. We've recently launched a new game and I wanted to post some promo codes in the Promo Codes forum. After posting 5 promo codes, it said "waiting for moderator approval" and it was never approved. Then I've pm-ed a moderator asking what I did wrong. No answer. Now, this still bugs me I've seen that under the title of the Promo-Codes forum, it says: "Only developers may offer codes or contests". Maybe I need to register as a developer first? After reading forum rules and FAQ, I kind of gave up The only thing I've found is this, in the forum rules: "Developers are welcome to post app announcements, but please identify yourself as the developer." What am I doing wrong?
I don't think what I did was spamming. I did it exactly like the thread "ROB-O-TAP promo codes (by Invictus)" for example. I posted the iTunes app info at the top and listed some promo-codes. Is that the right way? EDIT: The problem might have been that I've also posted the app info at the "iPhone and iPad Games" forum. Maybe that was the problem, that I've posted the same app-info in two forums?
You didn't do anything wrong. There's a spam filter on TouchArcade that captures some posts and yours seems to have been picked up for whatever reason. I've gone ahead and approved your thread, here: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=246724 Feel free to post in it (once) to bring it to the top of the forum, and sorry for the inconvenience!
I think it's pretty standard for the developers. Obviously the sometimes you will get jammed by the spam guards but then nothing else than consistent follow ups with the mods. Someone will hear your call. Besides that... stay classy and you should be good.
