Does anyone here Beta test games/apps WITH WINDOWS VISTA?? If so, what on God's green earth is the procedure? I have missed out on beta testing for one app because me and the developer who uses a mac couldn't find a way for me to do it. He said other people with Vista also could not get it to work.

I have had a chance to try to beta test another app, guess what? Yep same problem with Vista. I drag the provisional file into the Itunes applications window which DOES work. It always works, what DOESN'T work is dragging the actual app a .pvr4 extension into the icon OR app window. I even added the files to the library tons of times. Nothing. It absolutely doesn't work with Vista from what I know. It's not a .ipa file or whatever it's supposed to for apps so can anyone HELP me with this? I pray that someone with Vista does beta testing with devs. I haven't known anyone yet though...

Um.......same as Mac. Drag the game file and provisioning profile to iTunes and then sync.

Danny, read my post. I did all of that otherwise i wouldn't be posting here. The devs wouldn't be scratching their heads either. The dev who i am contact with says he's going to get his son who has vista to try it.

I hope we can get this sorted out.

Whoops I see. So I see the provisioning file worked.

The app should be in a folder. Not ipa or archive or anything. All the files should be in a folder name XXXX.app

Just drag the folder into iTunes (try dragging towards the top where it says "Library".

Hey Candy I use Vista too, and here's some useful tips I got from a developer:

-So download the thing/file the developer provides

-Next unzip it(On Mac you can use StuffIt, on PC try WinZip or any other zip program)

-You should see two items once you unzip it, a directory with the suffix .app and a .mobileprovisions file

-Open iTunes and plug in your device

    - Drag and drop the .mobileprovision and the application directory into your itunes library.(Or just the Application tab)

    - Navigate to the applications tab for your device, make sure that the beta app is checked, then hit sync

If you do every step right, the app should sync to your iPod/iPhone and you'll be able to play with it!:D

It actually worked for the little red sled beta file!! I dragged the whole folder.

It is not working with the other one. I will contact the dev about this.

    Thanks Danny!

No prob. If it's some sort of extension file the most likely thing is that the dev is using a game engine and forgot to properly format it or something.

    my 2 cents:

    2 words: Vista Sucks

XP is better even microsoft admitted Vista was a phail...

    ---------___---------

Anyways..... You have to drag the provision file into the applications section of
iTunes Drag app into anywhere on iTunes (preferably applications folder) and sync.
Maybe the app isn't built for the iPod touch?
Or the provision file dosnent have your UDID on it?

    EDIT:
I see she got it working.
