While writing out the response of another thread, I got to thinking that pretty soon, "Brazilian Rider" is going to be five years old.

It started out as just my gamertag, but throughout the past few years it's basically become an extension of my name in the digital world... Websites, emails, etc... Everything I do online is under "Brazilian Rider."

So that's where I ask you guys: How old is your handle, and what is it's story?

It's weird to see how something that started off so simply for a game will probably be a part of everything I do online for the rest of my life!

VBXZ is probably 3+ years old. I was messing around with an old cell phone and on the qwerty keyboard saw the letters VBXZ next to each other typed it out like that and it's stuck and is almost on everything as well I've tried to make it stand for something, I have: very best extraordinary (no "z" yet). Edit: 47 is lucky number as well.

Well I remember that I was at my friends house and I was deciding a good name for my account on his Xbox 360, I was typing random stuff and I typed "Vester", so I was like "dang, that's cool." That was about 2 years ago I believe.

  6. 12 years. When I got my first PC, having moved on from Atari computers, and got online, I figured I needed a new alias. I'm not sure why, it just seemed like the thing to do. Plus, my previous alias (DragonLord) was pretty stale and sounded kind of juvenile (I came up with it in '85, when I was 13 and first started calling bulletin boards) so an update was in order. The story isn't much; since I wrote music (though at the time just for about 6 years, still pretty green) I needed a "band" name, even though it was just me in said band, and this is what I came up with. Shortly afterwards, when I Googled it, I discovered it was already used by 2 bands (an indie rock group in the US and a folk group in Scotland) and was also too close to a Prodigy song ("Mindfields" -- I'd never listened to Prodigy at the time). Now I write my music under Psychopusher and just use this as my alias.

I chose iphoneprogrammer when i was intoxicated believe it or not. My gamertag/handle has always been DirtyDeeds cause of the song by AC/DC. But that night I guess i chose to type iphoneprogrammer instead...not a great choice i guess but it could have been worse.

Han0007 originated around 8 years ago, when i was young. The school teacher gave me it to login to the computer. I haveeee no idea why i chose it while signing up here. LOL
Also i think you should change the title of thread so people know what you are talking about better ;)

11 years at least. I wanted a name that nobody else could possibly have, or close to it, so I just made it up. It's probably more of an onamonapeia/sound effect than anything else. I read a lot of Mad Magazine when I was a kid haha!

    What, me worry?

Like you, RocketMan919 was first created as a gamertag. I just liked the name Rocketman (not because of the song) and I just typed in random numbers. That was about 4 years ago, and ever since then I use that for everything internet/tech/gaming related.

Crex is a little over a year old. I came up with it when I wanted to review a game on the appstore but I had to create a name first. And for some reason the first word that popped into my head was crew(maybe cause I was watching ABDC that night), but I thought it was too simple. So I changed the last letter to an X and I've been using it for everything.:D

Oh I thought this was about alcohol, because I have some pretty old whiskey..

Believe it or not, my name was chosen by my sister. She used to play World of Warcraft (she's a lawyer now) but she said I should use this name. No idea what it means whatsoever.

About 15 years old. When I was young, my brother and I saw a huge owl on a telephone pole. He (jokingly) said that it looked like a cougar, thus the "Flying Cougar" part. And then it flew into an area overrun with weeds (garden variety, not marijuana), and that's where we came up with the "Weed Eating" part. The name's stuck with me ever since because of how ridiculous it sounds.
