I'm 18 and I prefer drinking coffee and shaking my freshly thrown newspaper at kids on my lawn who won't get off of it.

I think you've mentioned it before, but I would presume you're close to my age in my mid 30s.

I'm actually disappointed that I'm not just a few years older. I feel Wil Wheaton and Chris Hardwick are my ideal age. They have a better love of and appreciation for the 80s gaming and cartoon culture. While I was born in the 70s and grew up in the 80s, by the time I was old enough to really retain the knowledge the 90s were upon us.

I have very little recognition of some amazing shows. Transformers and Voltron were shows I watched when they launched, but I don't REALLY remember them. I found myself hooked on Looney Tunes and many other cartoons, but I am sad I wasn't just a bit older.

That is especially true for gaming. I had a 2600, a NES and so on as they launched, but listening to Wheaton and Hardwick as well as wreck it ralph, I see a lot of references I was vaguely familiar with, but were more on the perepherie, rather than full memories.

Strange. Talking about this has brought back more memories that I didn't know I still had. I remember being HOOKED on Nickelodeon. Almost any show they had, I watched. I can't recall all of them, but You Can't Do That is one of my strongest memories. The game shows as well were a regular staple of my viewing.

Some shows that really stand out for me... After using the Internet to jog my memory a bit:

    The Wuzzles
    M. A. S. K.
    Care Bears
    Thundercats
    Inspector Gadget
    The Snorks
    Fraggle Rock
    The Raccoons
    G.I. Joe
    The Wuzzles
    Gummi Bears
    Alvin and the Chipmunks
Chip n' Dale: Rescue Rangers (oh man the theme for this song!!)
    Ducktales
    Heathcliff
    The Real Ghostbusters
    Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles

    ....

Okay so apparently I have experienced my fair share of shows. Combine that with the shows on Nick and it explains a lot. A LOT.

Also explains why I was so damn fat as a kid... And I'm rocking a fairly voluptuous figure too....

    =\

Can I get an amen that Netflix or Hulu needs to get their rears in gear and get these shows to us???

psj, isee there you didn't actually provide your age...

OR an explanation of your name. Were there really THAT many psjs before you? ;)

Hey, it could be worse. My girls have to grow up in THIS generation, although god they're closer in age to you than you are to me.

I.. I think I need to have a sit down.

    Oh. Wait.

I'm 52, 53 in October. Guess I'm one of the senior guys here, still lovin' video games since 1972, when we had Pong. I was already 12 then! I've owned every console ever made except the Neo Geo, and every hand-held system as well, some multiple times! Video games are one of my favorite hobbies and always has been. Nowadays I can have all my favorites to play any time I want, without any software baggage at all! Had a game room full of arcade stand-up games back in the day in my first house! All you young guys have it good today, as you can play both the old and the new--any time, so you have the best of both worlds! It's good to be a gamer these days indeed! A gamer 'til I die, I am! I agree with these other guys that it's better than sitting their with my wife and her dumb shows or my daughter's stupid vampire shows on the tube. Maybe I won't get Alzheimer's if I stay sharp. Whatever, I love it!

Even if we do it will be cool to re-experience that dramatic plot twist Bioshock again and again :)

My favorite FPS series, hopefully they let it rest here on its high, high laurels. Even though the third one delved into unfortunate COD-esque combat, it was still spectacular in terms of the sense of place and plot.

Crap I could watch fight club properly! I was helping clean up the aftermath of a party at the house my boss lived in and I caught the last 3/4 of it, completely ruining it for me... Sigh.

And while I'm still a bit away from being in my 50s, physically I'm in my 70s, maybe 80s ;)

I should just give up now ;)

And you wonder why you're being labelled as much of a drama queen as Connector.

I'm 40. As for my username, years years ago when i tried getting a hotmail account all the obvious names had gone so i had to think of a different 'name/code' to use.

Used my initials (psj) and a memorable number. I'm a HUGE Raiders fan and their best ever Superbowl win the score was 38-09 (Superbowl 18 that long ago !). So psj3809. Just a name/number i remember really well and its gone from there, havent bothered changing it after all these years on forums etc.

It's strange... most of the kids I recognise as being kids, but I rarely recognise the older members as being older. Maybe gamers are destined to stay young and immature for life ;)

Equally strange is how rich and fulfilling some of the TA member’s lives sound while others just seem sad and lonely. We’re a mixed bunch ;)

RPS described the mechanics of the plot well, they gave themselves a get out of narrative free card with their explanation of things. Still, I did enjoy it and loved the art.

I'm gonna do something different than everyone else. Instead of me revealing my age, I want you guys to try to guess it. And I won't say which answer is correct. Let the games begin.

May the odds be ever in your favor.
