The only games I actually beat are the ones that are way too easy...Gameloft I'm talking about you. AC1 and NOVA.
AC 1 is definitely not easy. That thing really tested my patience with it's long loading everytime you died.
So I guess I am in the boat with most. finished - Space Miner (now 2nd run) - Underworlds (twice) - Imprisoned! (09th Oct 2009 -> 5th Dec. 2010) - GeoDefense - Darkest Fear - Horror Labs - I Dig It Expeditions - iZombie Death March - Assault Squadron (at Casual Level, really stale experience, not recommended) - FarmFrenzy (actually my Wife did that) - Beneath a Steal Sky. (I complited it so often on the Amiga I just count it as such, since I still don“t feel the urge to do it again, soon) - Dead Panic - Mystery Mania - Red Rage (Lyndon Wicked) - Red Planet (sort of, I left the Planet) - Siberian Strike - Galaxy On Fire - Waiting for finishing: about 100 I actually care for. What about games you cannot really finish like Daisy Mae or CatchTom! ?
Sweet! The creators of doodle jump sent me doodle jump 2! im going to beat it like i beat the the first one.
I have 700 apps (the majority of them from promos, free giveaways, etc) and I've been slowly going through them. I had 850 two days ago. I've finished Puzzle Quest, Dungeon Scroll, and Bee Spelled several times...but that may be it. Of course, most of the games on the app store are simple mini-game type games, and not actual RPGs or games with long storylines and depth...so it's hard to gauge how many I've actually finished. The best apps are usually paid.
Yeah, most idevices games either aren't worth beating, or don't really have an end. Like survival-based games and some puzzle games. A lot of casual games aren't worth beating. Some indie games are stupidly short. A lot of games are repetitive and, without a compelling story to draw you in, aren't worth more than a few minutes of your time. Storytelling tends to get the shaft with most indie games, big time. Even a game like Alive4Ever or NYZ or the Infinity Project, has these really weak, text-based, journal-entry-based "storylines." Mostly, I concentrate on trying to beat Gameloft games, one at a time. I play a lot of non-Gameloft games, granted, but Gameloft games are often times the only ones worth actually beating. Recently, I finished Zombie Infection and BIA 2. Guerilla Bob and Prey are a few others that I did finish. Modern Combat too. Like most people, I don't complete most of the games I play. Even with Gameloft, I have to try to concentrate on one and not allow myself to stray. I bought Splinter Cell Conviction when it first came out and haven't played it yet. I'm working on Iron Man 2. It's a meh game, sure, but at least I know it's relatively short
For what its worth we actually put a good amount of time into the story for N.Y.Zombies and have gotten a surprising amount of praise for it -- I'm quite pleased in that regard. The tricky part with the idevice is that most people don't have the time or simply don't want to get into a really drawn out -- even if interesting -- story. Its quite difficult to portray an interesting plot with as little text as possible. I think most people just skip it when they see a large wall of text or multiple pages of story... even if its something good.
