The REAL question is, have you made at least that back in profit? My game is going to cost about $720. That means I need about 1000 sales at a buck to recoup the investment.
Yep, finally decided to go for it I have a minor in computer science so hopefully I can pick up the programming in a couple of months. The blog will detail the experience. Thanks for the support!
it is. but on a hackintosh? btw pablo; im making one too. work starts in about a month or so when i get my mac
I have an awesome idea for my first (simple / learning app) and then another one for after I get the hang of it. Will do. Thanks!
LOL. Are thou willing to help out the Duke of Rolly? I won't need that narrative voice though. Thanks anyways.
Don't worry, I won't use "thee" or "thou" for the duke unless you're game has a medieval theme to it.
Congrats, GatorDeb! One word of advice, though. Once you get everything working on your Dell, get all your certificates in order, and make sure you can make a valid debug, release, and distribution build of a simple one day app. I'd hate to see you do a bunch of work only to find out the Dell barfs on the most important part.
TanZen 1.0 ----------- $600 Mac Mini $100 Apple entry fee $50 Business registration Lots of free time. Already had an iPhone. Made the countable money back in less than a week, after taxes. Zentomino 1.0 -------------- $600 music/sfx Some free time. Made the countable money back in three days, after taxes.
It's all about the permissions to make apps for yourself, and for the app store. As Apple is extremely particular about how they're created, I don't know that a hackintosh will be able to do it. Perhaps someone with hackintosh experience knows the answer.
My music guy is a pro. Worth every penny. Considering it's my only cost of development these days, since I still have a day job, it's a drop in the bucket.
