How do you listen to music? MP3 player, iPhone, Radio, Vinyl, Internet? If the 50s & 60s were the era of the record, in the 70,s we had tape, (lovely 8-tracks and cassettes), and the Sony Walkman. Then CDs in the 80s and now MP3S. This Day in Music is running a poll to find out how you listen to your music. If you fancy having a vote http://tinyurl.com/tdimpoll
I mainly listen on my iPod touch, but but I use YouTube a lot to discover new bands to listen to. Then I get their albums if I heard enough of what I liked.
I use my PC/Mac mostly. There is something to be said about the warm, oaky tones of vinyl though and I often think I should be buying more of the classics on record. I was considering picking up Let It Bleed on vinyl just the other day actually... still am.
I use a lot of different things. On my laptop, I use Spotify, a free music streaming service, because I'm still putting off getting my music library back together after a hard-drive crash. In the kitchen/lounge I just stick a CD in the Bose, or hook up my iPod up to it if I'm bothered enough. Want to get a stereo with an iPod dock, but no money to upgrade at the moment, and the one I've got sounds good anyway, seems kinda pointless to upgrade just for that. And if I ever listen to music while I'm out, on my iPod, but normally only use it for music when I'm travelling. Car radio for commuting, or an MP3 CD if the radio is particularly grating on that day.
If I'm on my computer I use Spotify (I rarely use iTunes to listen to music!) Lounging in the house I use the music channels on TV or put my iPod on the TV dock. Out and about, obviously use my iPod.
