Wow! Thanks staulcub! You're too generous! Fantastic entry!! You know what's amazing?... That was exactly like a dream I had last night... Here's a snapshot from my dream memory bank... Amazing!!! Any more entries? cjsbug? Not long to go now!
Ugh. This has been a dreadful few weeks. My whole family has been hit with the nasty puking flu bug going around. I'm just resurfacing today. Best of luck to those that entered. It looks as if I may be out... Thanks for the mini contest though. Cheers!
Is that your official entry? Hope you and your family get better soon! Any other entries anyone? There is a little bit more time left...
lol, I guess I sure could've used the Hover Board to get my ass home quickly so I wasn't hurling in front of the entire family on Thanksgiving day.
Funny entry! Anyone else?? You have until the end of this day! (The end of November). What would you do with a Hover World iboard?
I decided to submit another. Took a little creative liberty with Hover World.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If I had a Hover World iBoard? No ifs, I'm getting one now. Again, actually. I flip a credit stick at Yuri, who catches it with a quick curl of his hand. "Fifteen grand," I say. "Get me your best iBoard." Yuri leans back in his chair and slides the credit stick into a reader. Green numbers flash across the reader's two-inch wide screen. Nodding, Yuri grins through his wiry brown beard. "You planning something crazy again? Remember, it's not my business if you get caught and your iBoard gets seized. I don't do refunds either." He stands and heads to a back room. A minute later, he emerges with a steel gray iBoard, sleek and glossy. "Just refurbished, and top of the line," Yuri says. The iBoard's lighter than it looks. Running my hands along its surface, I discover a few scratches along its twin supercharged turbo jets. It's practically impossible to find a perfect iBoard on the black market. But as long as it'll fly, I don't give a damn. *** I've spent the past half year hunting for garbot1. I had thought they'd blasted him to smithereens in the coup two years ago, and then word got to me the Overlord had ordered garbot1 powered down and locked away. There can be only one reason why they hadn't fully disassembled him. Something important or valuable must be stashed in garbot1's memory banks something they haven't yet been able to extract. I don black and ride my new iBoard out during the curfew hours, keeping an eye open for patrol. The last time I encountered the Overlord's lackeys, it took me just a couple of kicks and punches to beat them unconscious, but my iBoard got wrecked in the process. There's just one more area I haven't finished searching. Beneath a crescent moon, I glide across the western swamp, weaving around outgrowths and ducking beneath branches. For hours, I wave the flashlights attached to my wrists, searching in vain, and then among the tall grass I notice a gravel pathway. The pathway leads to a high fenced-up compound within which a squarish green building squats. I pull a pair of wire cutters out from my backpack and clip the fence. Within, the ground is overgrown with weeds and moss has crept up the building's heavy metal door. It looks like it's been awhile since anyone has visited. The door's locked, of course, but I've come prepared and just stick on the decryptor. I enter a dark office and sneeze immediately. The desks, chairs, and floor are all covered in a gray blanket of dust. I wrap a kerchief around my face and proceed to search the building, opening every door and closet. I find a room surrounded with various machinery and equipment, and toward the back I discover a stairway leading down. Another locked door. My heart pounds in my ears as I take a few seconds to unlock it. Something hits my head. I fall, my elbow striking hard ground. One of my flashlights goes out. I raise my left arm to block the pole that's rushing at me again. In my remaining beam of light, I notice a flash of golden bronze. I rip the kerchief off my face. "garbot1?" I mumble, shielding my throbbing head as I stand. "Cloudcastles?" a slurred robot voice says. I shine my light at a round-bellied robot with big oval eyes and a crooked antenna on the top of his head. A broom clatters to the floor from garbot1's hand. "How did you find me?" he asks. "I thought I'd never see daylight again." "Just a couple more hours," I reply, and guide him out of the cramped room. I lower my iBoard onto the floor. "Step on, my friend. Let's get out of here." It's a good thing garbot1 isn't too big or heavy. There's just room enough for both of us on my iBoard.
I tried to make a funny comic, but haven't got enough time ( and skill), but if I had a hover board, I would definitely play Hover World while I'm sitting on it. (no flying during, it could be dangerous ) Great entires btw
I have to say with the dearth of entries, I'm just overwhelmed. My take is that over all they suck, except for pajo's of course! My impression on a few of them are as follows: Cloudcastle's entries are very creative and imaginative. I felt compelled to read them all the way thru. In fact I was hoping the last entry would have been longer. I was just getting into the story line. The only poetic thing I could come up with was: "Roses are red, Violets are grey, If I had an iboard, I would play play play." Staulcub's entry, what can you say?! I wish I had the creative and graphic skills to produce something like that in a timely fashion. Very professional looking. (don't some of you think that's a very interesting coincidence that the garbot here looks very similar to the one in garbot's latest flyer? I'm being to wonder if staulcub and garbot are really one in the same!?! can you say r-i-g-g-e-d? cjsbug: yes nice entry, very funny double entendre...garbot1 hurling thru space... Daldaris: yes very good words of wisdom (hard won thru experience no doubt If I missed anyone, I am so terribly sorry(~) It's so hard keeping track of everyone.
Wow! The entries keep coming! And they are awesome and very creative! My decision is getting more and more difficult! If you have any more entries - you have just under 5hours to submit them in order to be considered. (Midnight GMT -5. The time now is 07:19 PM.)
Thanks! I had fun writing. I was trying not to write too much in my last entry, in fear it would be too long for a forum post. I'll just give you a bit more story resolution with this: Something in garbot1's memory banks saves Hover World from crumbling to the dark Overlord, and eventually Hover World is restored to original beauty, where anyone can freely ride an iBoard. I thought your entry of a series of pictures was innovative and very much in line with the puzzles in this thread. I too am unable to make a video like Staulcub. Good effort, everyone! The contest was fun even though the entries were too few and far between.
