Thanks. Your deduction of how and why 'toil' was the correct answer and the picture it was associated with, was very valuable. I had figured 'toil' fit the "hard working robot" clue before this, but I was assigning it to picture #6 (yes, the infamous). I just couldn't figure out, except at a very shallow level, how 'toil' fit with the picture other than, because the rooster was crowing and toiling under the sun. Weak I know. So when you came up with picture #4 I knew you were right on and could cross that one off the list. and with jwcasser being the first to figure out 'toil' was the first part of the path, that went a long way towards me solving this one. then cjsbug, among other things putting picture #7 altogether (with the help of other inputs) I knew we had picture #7 and 'yummyoil' down pat also. I was pretty positive about picture #8 being boil(s) pretty early on also. But that left picture #5 and picture #6. Other than staying to long with the 'they all must have oil in them', I was partial to #5 being grease (again cjsbug gets some credit here). So picture #6 is the one that was giving me the most grief, among all the rest of you also I suspect. Sorry to say garbot1's input really didn't push me in any direction, other than to confirm my suspicion that it had to do with 'early' sounding like 'oily'. I was kidding myself about taking another step back and rethinking things abit and then it hit me this morning, while driving into work, that 'extra' in the clue was talking about both birds. I tried about 30-40 combinations/variations of 'earlybirdnightowl' to 'oilybirdnightoil' at that point. But still nothing. I then go into work and not quite sure what prompted me to try 'oilyoil'. I think I was retrying 'nightoiloilybird' when something clicked about it the 'oiloily' being together. At that point it was history. as far as the order, I was pretty sure it wouldn't be in picture order and infact I haven't figured out how the correct order was determined other than by trial and error.

By the way... ...I ended up selecting all of the brands to help restore myself! toil (4 letters) - I used this on my hard-working joints (legs and arms). boils (5 letters) - Although disgusting, this oil is good for unclogging lint and dust from congested areas!! grease (6 letters) - Good for head antenna joints... and it keeps me looking stylish! oilyoil (7 letters) - "Early Owl" extra good for lubricating rusting optical servos! yummyoil (8 letters) - This delicious oil goes straight into my fuel tanks! Well, I'd better search for more encrypted data packets!
Only time will tell... ... these encrypted data (information) packets can turn out to be anything... heck, look at that last puzzle - bizarre... Stay Tuned!
Do you think look at that last puzzle is the next clue? Not sure. I noticed that there is a new status bar in the picture:
I've searched and searched my memory banks for more encrypted data packets... Nothing... Mind you... I have a lot of memory banks to look through... Well... I guess I'll just keep searching... Stay Tuned!
Well... I've searched heaps of my memory banks for encrypted data packets and I've just realised something Some of my memory banks are completely inaccessible!! Strange!! I'll search deeper and see what I can find stay tuned!!
20th Encrypted Data Packet Found! Well... ... I searched deeper... ... and deeper... ... and... ... I came across... ...this... Who can help me decipher this?
