I thought broil would be better for pic #6, because of the sun, the small bird can be looks like it is sweating, and the rooster maybe related to broiler

Good idea that would help explain "Extra lubricating" 5 is the tough one though, ive tried every possible word that that ends in "oil", may have something to do with hair oil? palm oil maybe? And we are going to need another word that relates to 7. I'm in favor of "yummyoil" it makes sense, but we can't test it out yet

Unless "yummy oil" is a type of cooking oil such as olive oil

Well, my english knowledge is not really good, tried some of words related to oil for pic #5, but nothing worked. Maybe it's not containing the oil word.
But I found this site, maybe it helps you, I barely know these words :(

I was thinking along those same lines, almost from the start, as we haven't heard a peep from him since the current puzzle started.

I'm trying but I think I killed all my good brain cells last nite/early this morning.

For those of you who participated in the galactic captain contest, how long did the hardest puzzle take?

Sleep is over rated but I damned near burnt the house down when I nodded off while burning the oil.:)

Well it sure was nice of garbot1 to say hi. And that was about how long he stuck around.

well here is a few more thoughts of mine:

I believe the following is good deductive reasoning:

4 - toil (toilet - et) - something for the hard working robot
    5 - ???
    6 - ???
    7 - yummyoil ((dummy - y) + (boil - b)) - something tasty
8 - boil possibly boils (not sure about this other than it fits) - something disgusting

I'm not sure I agree with previous reasonings of 6 - 'broil'. I don't quite follow the logic here.

    and 5 is a stumper.

It seems like they all should have the word 'oil' in them. Maybe so far as words related to oil, like slick, sludge, grease but I'm kinda leaning away from that.

    so that leaves:

    - something that sounds like it might be extra lubricating

    - something stylish

if you take into account how 4 and 7 where figured out, I think you have to assume the other pictures represent the same methodology.

    so picture 5:
we have a guy holding a comb that appears to be losing parts of comb teeth. The guy has his mouth open. Has a pompadour haircut and a black t-shirt on.

The guy reminds me of Fonzie from the Happy days TV sitcom years back. He could be mouthing his favorite line 'aaay'. Fonzie was sort of a greaser and wore a pompadour haircut and a black t-shirt.

    picture 6:
we have a rooster/cock on a fence post crowing, the sun is presumably rising over a hilly area with clouds in the sky. we have a yellow bird on a branch that looks like its tired or a woe is me look and seems to be looking at the rooster.

That sums it up for me at this point.

picture 6: the one with the rooster in it is really driving me nuts. I just can't figure this one out and don't believe that anyone else is on the right track. Anyone have any new ideas or want to reiterate their old ideas in a new fashion!?! I'm going sit here and stare at it to give it a little bit longer than I'm done for the night/early morning.
