thanks cjsbug for the more detailed explanation. I figured it was something like that but until I went back an looked, it then made sense. I'm wondering if the 1985 and 42 may have something to do with the next contest??? So I'm going to keep them in mind anyway.
AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!!! Congratulations hiurdin! And well done everyone else! Now that's what I call team work!!!! I'd better recalculate the top 10 ranking for the Grand Prize...
I didn't notice that in your post this morning (my eyes must have still been a little crossed from that stereogram) Thank you!
Grand Prize top 10 ranking... update! Grand Prize rank update: So far (taking into account who has solved the most, who has helped the most, who has tried the hardest, who has the best manners, who has accumulated the most eligibility points, who has been given the most eligibility points, who has really tried, who has dropped the most hints, who has given it their all despite chasing red herrings and going off on wild goose chases...etc) this is the updated top 10 list of names of who currently has the best chance of winning the grand prize of a Parrot AR. Drone (a cool hover toy!!!) 1. hiurdin 2. cloudcastles 3. jwcasser 4. pajo_ojap 5. cjsbug 6. Daldaris 7. staulcub 8. speed4mee 9. warcrack 10. KoOne23 Note: This list may change depending on how the rest of the contest continues... If your name hasn't made the list - you need to try harder (you may just be in position 11... not mentioning any names *LN3000*)! Extra note: You don't need to actually solve the puzzles in order to be eligible... you may earn eligibility by just being helpful in the thread! Good luck everyone! Stay tuned for more puzzles!!
Hiurdin definitely deserves the top spot! I can't wait to see what other puzzles garbot1 will toss at us.
14th encrypted data packet found! Well, my eyes are still blurry... so I'm none the wiser about my surroundings. I'm hoping my new optical circuits will warm-up soon... I tried talking to the dispensing machine about it... it just pretended to snore. Anyway, while I was searching my memory for a fix for my eyes and I came across this encrypted data packet: While you try to solve it, I'll try to get my new optical circuits to kick-in. Good Luck!
Loaded all the respective pictures in my browser, but of course it's not so easy to figure out after that.
True true... I guess we can go ahead and list them: A. IMG_1013 B. IMG_1003 C. disco02 D. IMG_1010 E. IMG_1006
yep, haven't gotten any further than that myself. the disco02 one seems to be kinda the odd one out tho.
yeah it does stand out a bit. Other than that I wonder what order we should be looking at these? Down or across?
Thanks cloudcastles!!! My internet connection has been intermittent today so I'm happy to finally be able to connect so I can help out. This looks like an interesting puzzle.
thought of that, but can't make it mean anything. I also took just the numbers 1013 1003 02 1010 1006 and tried to make sense of them in different order/ways like some kind of pattern. I tried converting to hex and got AD A3 02 AA A6. Still coming up with nothing that makes any kind of sense. Even went so far as to determine ordering by what page they appear on in flickr. I also tried to rank them by the number of gems earned. And these were my good ideas. Won't mention the more far out ones.
The pictures given to us in the clue are faded compared to the flickr pictures. Not sure if that is significant or not tho. A few of my ideas were listing the pictures in order as found on the http://iphone.ezone.com/?cat=76 site I was able to find two of the pictures, one from each section and then got stuck at that point as I couldn't find anymore in the following sections. The screenshots on the right side of the page are different for each of these sections Hover World: Disco Hover World iTunes Card Contest Hover World: Touch Controls Hover World: Kung Fu Hover World: iBoard Video Ad Hover World: Announced Then trying them in different orders but no luck yet. IMG_1006 has a random comment tho the others have none.
I think you all have had better ideas than I've had so far, haha. I also have to get some paying work done so I can't dedicate very many brain cells to this puzzle endeavor right now. Well, at least I'm not throwing anyone off track like I did previously with the meaning of 42.
Its been a long day/morning already. I think I need to get some rest. Wake up time is going to come way to early. Good luck guys.
Hahaha, I have to admit that I had fun learning about the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy! Another idea, maybe there is a relationship with the alphabet and the ascii table?
Thanks! Get some good sleep. Maybe you will come up with the solution in a dream or one of your far out ideas will solidify
Just tried a word finder using these websites to see if abcde is a scrambled word. Still looking into it, but its probably another red herring... Not so much info from this page http://homepage.ntlworld.com/adam.bozon/anagramsolver.htm This one found 385 possible word combinations but most of them use a letter more than once. http://www.design215.com/toolbox/wordfind.php
