So true! I'm having flashbacks to the Galactic Gunner treasure hunt, which was awesome too! That's why I was so bummed I missed out on the first 8 puzzles for Hover World. I'm a sucker for puzzles.
Great gobs of goose grizzle...I walk away for an hour and another puzzle has been solved. Congrats cloudcastles, don't sell yourself short. Picture puzzles like these can be tough to solve. You have to have a good eye and spacial reasoning to figure these out. Different people have different skills. So I would implore everyone not to give up. In fact I'll also state it now, since I was thinking of it after earlier, If I figure another puzzle out, I will also forgo the promo code and pass it on to someone else that has been part of this thread (so would this be a pre karma sort of thing). Sadly I might end up missing a lot more of these puzzles, just to much work to do this week, long hours and not enough time to be spent online. whoa is me...whoa is me (does anybody feel sorry for me yet? didn't think so). But I'll try to keep up to date. Keep them coming and good luck to everyone else
That means I got points for my image post at the beginning? I need to keep this page open to help out.
Good job everyone! A lot sure happened while sleeping. Thanks pajo_ojap for explaining the math one, i would have been itching to try to figure that one out
Sorry... I had to "shut-down" for awhile... my logic board was starting to over-heat... plus, I was hoping it would correct my new optical circuits if I "shut-down"... but no such luck... My eyes are still blurry. Hopefully, they will correct themselves soon... Still... I'm seeing lots of good sportsmanship within this thread! Great team work everyone! I'll search my memory for more encrypted data packets! Stay Tuned!
I will drop some hints. Bird = twitter specifically the ezone twitter page There is some clues there one being 1985 the year of Back to the Future Hope this helps!
OK, I'll throw out a hint: The little bird that looks like it's taking a crap... perhaps that's a "tweet" a little blast to the past going on here
Ok, so I looked at Ezone's twitter feed.... The most famous reference to the number 42 is probably the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? I don't know how that ties in with Back to the Future though.
I believe your right and it may not have anything to do with Back to the Future. I was thinking that a possibility due to the year the film came out. Another possibility is; 1985 an album was released by this band name derived from the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Level_42
Or this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hitchhiker%27s_Guide_to_the_Galaxy:_The_Original_Radio_Scripts Maybe we're all getting nowhere.
-Something interesting I stumbled across about alternate reality game. "These games always have a specific goal of not only involving the player with the story and/or fictional characters but of connecting them to each other. Many game puzzles can be solved only by the collective and collaborative efforts of multiple players." - Some more possibilities related to the puzzle 42. "There is a joke amongst computer programmers that Deep Thought may have had some order of operations issues. The following code in the C programming language defines the macros SIX as "1 + 5" and NINE as "8 + 1", and then performs the computation "SIX * NINE". It returns the answer "42", because "SIX * NINE" is expanded by the computer to "1 + 5 * 8 + 1", and the multiplication takes precedence over the additions." "The Answer to Life the Universe and Everything - The Ultimate Answer. According to the Hitchhiker's Guide, researchers from a pan-dimensional, hyper-intelligent race of beings, construct Deep Thought, the second greatest computer of all time and space, to calculate the Ultimate Answer. After seven and a half million years of pondering the question, Deep Thought provides the answer: "forty-two." "Forty-two!" yelled Loonquawl. "Is that all you've got to show for seven and a half million years ..." "To construct the name of a polygon with more than 20 and less than 100 sides, combine the prefixes as follows..." "That is, a 42-sided figure would be named as follows:" I found a few different ways of spelling it, tetracontadigon dotetracontagon tetracontadogon Here is the source of the info found above. http://www.experiencefestival.com/42_puzzle From Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phrases_from_The_Hitchhiker%27s_Guide_to_the_Galaxy#The_number_42 "The answer to this is very simple. It was a joke. It had to be a number, an ordinary, smallish number, and I chose that one. Binary representations, base thirteen, Tibetan monks are all complete nonsense. I sat at my desk, stared into the garden and thought '42 will do'. I typed it out. End of story."
It's a pity we haven't uncovered how 42 is linked with 1985. Or maybe I'm wrong and it has nothing to do with the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (although the theme does fit well with garbot1's robot world). I think I need to pause this and get some real work done.
The closest thing to 1985 seems to be this "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: The Original Radio Scripts is a book, published in 1985".
