    Random Facts #4 - Bath Effects of Big Baths get carried over as long as unlocked before Yr 15. Even if you have 3 stars!

    Hm, that's odd. For me it unlocked with both of them still at 0 Popularity. Try getting Nobleman and Noblewmn to 30 Popularity and see if it unlocks? Or maybe it'll require other targets at a certain popularity, I'll have to check again...

    Wow, so if you crammed all the bath effects in the bath, you get a free super-bath in the new game? XD

    Although I suppose in games like this with carry-over effects you're probably meant to play it over and over again to get high stats. Like Infinity Blade, though I haven't played that yet.

    Up to you, it adds 1 compatibility to Females to the facility. Best would be to use it on the female bath though, that way you can have high compatibility without needing to have as many bath effects.

    As mentioned, VIP room carries over whenever you unlock it. Same goes for Large Bath and Pond. If you're talking about bath effects on the Large Bath they need to be unlocked before Year 15 for it to carry over though, I believe.

    Edit// ^^ Ok, as FateMortis said, all levels carry over. Thanks for confirming! :D

    that's awesome!
    Then the trick would be to load up as much effect possible on the big bath and then restart the new game :D

    I found that adding bath effect to the Big Bath can be really tricky though. Putting facility in front of the entrance 2 tiles away doesn't work....

    Can someone please explain the definition of "Near By" ??

    Phazer, I've confirmed that Garden Investment is the one needed. I got Biz-woman to 50. Nothing happened, I invested. And Illustrator came out in the Investments.

    @iamnam

    Phazer mentioned before. Large Baths' effective tiles are as followed.

    XXE
    XXE

    E = Entrance
    X = Bath Area

    Only the X which is the bath area is effected by anything near to it.
    By near I mean 5x5 squares range.

    Yeah I updated the tech-tree with the Garden investment. I think you still need Biz-woman to be at 30 or 50 Popularity though, need to double check that.

    Edit// Btw, since multiple levels of effects do carry over, just to check, do the effects from using Fame Seed and Milk count as well?

    I just finished including the layouts in the guide, it looks better with them now! :D

    Btw ujujiensan, In R2C12 of the sheet you put a Pachinko instead of a Fortuneteller. :p

    equivocal: You could also put in 2 rows of scenery in Colums 4&5 instead, that'll give 10 extra Scenery for those having "full coverage", and assuming you use Plum Trees (+18).

    Edit// Oh yeah, if I'm not mistaken Groups can't use the Large Baths?

    Regarding the effects of facilities like Pachinko and Karaoke, I've found that they only lower bonus compatibilities, so if you only have a Tatami Room and a Pachinko, the Room will retain it's base compatibility. Put another Room and the effects will cancel out. In this case the Pachinko and Karaoke will cancel out the Vending Machine and Room bonuses, but there'll still be bonuses from the Massage Chair and Cafe. Thanks to this, I went to test out the mechanics, here's a new section to be included in my guide:

    By placing a facility that is compatible to another at most 2 tiles away, either one or both of the facility's compatibility with the specified (all means all age groups for both genders) group will increase by 0.5 (seen in the compatibility menu as half a green heart). Conversely, if an effect goes down it'll be by -0.5. This will not reduce the base compatibility though.

    For exmaple, placing a Tatami Room next to a Pachinko Machine with no other facilities nearby will not cause the compatibility to drop. Place another Tatami Room next to the original though, and the two effects cancel out. Place a Vending Machine, and the net effect becomes -0.5 (Pachinko) + 0.5 (Tatami) + 0.5 (Vending) = +0.5. And if you add another Karaoke Room the net effect becomes 0 again. For gender-specific effects, an "All down" effect will negate two gender effects. For example, placing a Tatami Room with a Cafe (Men up) and a Fortuneteller (Women up) will give +0.5 to both Men and Women, but if you put a Pachinko Machine (All down), both gender effects will be negated and the Tatami Room will be at base compatibility. Group compatibility remains the same as the base cannot be reduced.

    Read the previous posts in the thread. This issue is covered quite extensively.

    Honestly, I don't know. I got all my bath effects before year 15 so I don't know if you can still get it after year 15. It's not possible to go back and try this, since every new bath I create now has effects. You need a fresh copy of the game to try this.

    I'm not sure what you mean. Are you referring to the full inn layout that I posted? Wouldn't doing that force people to walk one big round?

    They can. I remember seeing a pair of people stacked on top of each other in a large bath. That's why large baths can also have the Forever Friends effect. I'll try to capture a screenshot.

    Yeah, instead of having 2 columns of floors. Well, a few more spaces won't hurt them. :p

    Hm I'm not sure if I assumed that from looking at the guest list history or because the base compatibility of Large Baths is 0. But anyway I tried on a game where I only have 2 Large Baths, and Young Couples would check into their rooms and go to sleep immediately. Unless having the group effect allows groups to enter..? Can't test that in my current test game because I only have 3-4 investments completed there. XD

    I've just checked my guest list, groups and couples are definitely getting satisfaction from my large baths.

    In my third playthrough I've run into the Ceremony not unlocking problem. I'm testing now to see if its a target and/or facility popularity issue.

    Hm that's odd, mine sure don't. IIRC that (couples not visiting large baths) happened in my old game too. Maybe it's the bath effect?

    You'll have to get 10 Natural Stones, about 2 months later you'll be able to invest to get it.

    Possibly, ah it just happened. A young family went into the female large bath. I've got 2 hearts of fast friends so you may be right. In this playthrough I had a grand total of 16 hearts on my bath by year 10! When i finish this I'll see if these carry over to a new game.

    Ceremony has unlocked for me in Y13M1. I was in the midst of racing target popularity. Every target is 40 or above now, except CEO (36). So this may not be an unlock condition, or maybe every target >35. Nobleman is at 45 and Noblewoman at 52.

    It could also be purely a time thing. I had finished unlocking and investing in everything else way before this. Maybe someone can confirm in a new playthrough.

    In my first game I unlocked Nobleman in Y19M1, option for Ceremony came up in Y20M10.
    ------
    Oh ok, I went to check my old screenshots, the month before that I got #1 for Le Nichelin. That could be a criteria, plus the Airport and Develop Resort investments. Probably the reason why I thought you needed both at 30 at first, since I unlocked them late. Then in my second game I unlocked Nobleman, kept him at 0 pop (since I started a new game in between my playthrough the popularity didn't carry over) for a few months, when nothing happened I unlocked Noblewmn, who was also at 0 pop, afterwards Ceremony became available. Can't remember if I had #1 in Le Nichelin then though, but it seems like a plausible criteria, being a high class guide and all.

    Edit//
    Would be crazy having a full-effect bath from the start. XD
    Hm I'll try it out on my second game. Just need to make my facilities popular enough for Chimpan Z. :X

    So when did it unlock for you when they were at 0 pop? Do you remember? When it unlocked for me in Y13M1 I had already finished getting everything. All investments, all guides were done around Y10-11 or so. So it could be a timing issue. Need to try a new game to find out.
