Do you know how to rotate the bath? I can't figure out how to rotate the bath either... when the arrow icons appear, I tried tilting my device, or tapping the arrows, but it ended up simply building the bath in the default direction.
There should be a rotate button on the bottom left hand corner of the screen (where you usually save) when you're placing the bath.
Lol thanks, had a blind moment there since I automatically assumed the bath wouldn't have the rotate button as none of the others have it. Does anyone have any tips for a good layout? I'm on year 13 and I still can't win 1st in the gourmet springs thing (keep getting 2nd, so annoying), and I haven't unlocked like 50% of the characters! So I figured I'm doing something seriously wrong as year 13 is almost endgame. The problem is popularity increases extremely slowly on my game, my three target customers on average increases like 5 per year, which is ridiculous. Should I completely separate the males from the females, and the teenagers from the seniors? I know that the males tend to like the cafe and arcade, while the females tend to like the massage parlour and the gacha machines. But as for the other facilities I have no idea where I should place them.
Sure thing. For layouts you can check the first post or around the 15-20th pages of this thread, or you can check the guide in my sig, I've included the layouts from this forum there too. For Gourmet Springs what matters is the popularity of your restaurants so use Popularity Seeds/items on them, and boost their scenery. Scenery/Popularity is also important for your other facilities so do the same for them. Concentrate on Rooms/Baths first since everyone will be using them. Having bath effects would help too. Ideally you'll want customers to get a +30 satisfaction (usually the max, although sometimes it can go higher) from using your facilities.
Thanks, I boosted the popularity of the restaurants and finally managed to get the gourmet springs trophy. I had the thought that you could only use the popularity seed once on each facility since the supply is really low. In your guide you mentioned that you need at least 250+ popularity for the rooms and baths for that monkey. How did you reach 250+, is it just like 15-20 popularity seeds? Because I tested the popularity value by surrounding my room with like 8 trees (maple, plum, azalea, bamboo), with 4 being in close proximity, and added in like 3 popularity seeds, and the room's popularity is only 127, nowhere as close as 250. Right now I'm on year 23 and stuck on the relaxing springs contest. No matter how many (limited) plants I plant I seem to only be able to get 2nd place for like 6 years in a row, with like 5300 votes, even though all three targeted patrons are at 100 popularity. The only thing I haven't tried is fill all 400 spaces in the inn with plants, maybe then the contest will be satisfied... -.- Which layout in your guide was meant for acing the final two guests, the monkey and the kairobot, as well as maxing the speed that you gain popularity?
Yeah, something like that. Popularity seeds give around +10 per use so you'll need to use 10 or more of them plus scenery. You can also use the other items, even though the game says Milk/Green Tea/whatever are best used on Resturants/Vending Machines you can use them on Rooms/Stores to get Price/Pop bonuses too. For Relaxing Springs your scenery items need to actually boost the scenery of your facilities. They give the most bonus when placed directly next to a facility (instead of diagonally/2 tiles away), check my guide for more info. So having tons of scenery doesn't necessarily get you more votes. But basically you'll just have to keep improving your scenery until you get first. Try building one row of scenery in between 2 rows of facilities or something like that. There isn't exactly a specific layout for the special characters, but since they're both male youths, pick a layout which has the In Crowd effect. Or, as I mentioned you can modify your layout just for this (i.e. replacing anything nearby with Plum Trees, or rebuild a portion of your bath close to the entrance) if you're having trouble. The more important thing is having high popularity for your Baths/Rooms, so just keep spamming Popularity Seeds or the other items. Same goes for improving your guests' popularity.
Sad to say I wasn't as impressed as I was with Gave Dev Story Not to say the gameplay was bad, it's just that GameDev story appealed to me more than this particular theme. It WAS a GREAT game though!
I finally managed to get that relaxing springs cup, think it was by luck though as I didn't improve much lol. Surprisingly I found the other two cups, 100 springs and nichelin, really easy. Got both on my first or second tries. It seems relaxing springs requires the most votes (6000+ I think) for first place, while the last two only require 5000+ (managed to get like 8500+ on 100 springs and no idea how I did that). I also found the chimp surprisingly easy, aced it on my second try. Basically this is what I did: - Clear the upper right corner of the inn, place the gate and receptionist about 4 spaces from the upper right corner (where the people appear at the edge of the screen) - Build one male bath with a level 3 in-crowd effect, using Phazer's awesome guide (6 souvenir stands and 6 azaleas within 3 tiles of the pool area of the bath) - It doesn't matter if all 6 souvenirs are inaccessible, just squeeze them all in, as souvenir stands don't help much with boosting satisfaction anyways - Build one western room right next to the bath - Build one cafe, one restaurant, one vending machine, and one massage chair as close to the western room as possible, as these are the only facilities that the monkey will use (according to Phazer's guide, I tested this a few times and that's all he used) - If you designed it well there should still be space for a couple of plants, in addition to the 6 azaleas used; use all plum trees of course - Now for the final touch, near any of the 4 facilities that is relatively far to the western room, place a roadblock (a pine tree), so the chimp doesn't wander off to some faraway region! These guests often like to take detours and waste a few hours wandering around, so the roadblocks trap the chimp in a very small area, forcing him to visit all the facilities I managed to get a passing mark with this roadblock strategy very easily. My western room that he used was only like 120 popularity, the bath was around 130, the restaurant was around 160, and all the others were below 80. If he visits all 4 facilities then he should give you a passing mark.
Yeah based on my own findings Relaxing Springs requires ~6000 votes whereas Le Nichelin requires ~2000 and Top 100 requires ~5000 as you said. The only "difficulty" is that you have to unlock the upper tier targets for Le Nichelin and you need bath effects (though not that much) for Top 100. That's what I did for Kairobot, I just demolished part of my inn and crammed in all the facilities and scenery. Though by then I was already in very very end game so my Rooms/Baths already had 200+ popularity. XD
It seems I'm missing a lot of the character types listed in your guide. For example I have the painter at 99 or 100 popularity, but I still didn't unlock the COO character type. And I have G. Manager at 100 popularity, and I still don't have the investment to unlock secretary. Do these characters have other prerequisites? Also what should I use the fame and relaxation seeds on? I used the glamour seed on the female large bath. I tried to use the relaxation seed on a western room (good thing I saved before using it), and it added only +2 to popularity, as opposed to the +30-35 in your guide, not sure what went wrong there... Man this is one hell of an addicting game... game dev story was already so addicting, this is like twice as addicting as game dev since it's at least twice as complex. As an aside, what exactly is a "rich missus" lol? Her sprite looked like an old man until I saw her walking into the female bath. Same thing with the fortune teller, short flat hair and business suit, totally male until I saw her using the female bath.
Hm that's strange, it they should've unlocked with 30 pop. So far I've only heard people having problems with Ceremony/Rich Couple, the rest should unlock without hitches... Relaxation Seed adds to the scenery, not the popularity (although like you mentioned, it does add 1-2). I suggest using the Fame Seed (increases the Jacuzzi, Spa and gender-oriented effect by one) on a male bath, since you can get one level of Silky Smooth on Female baths using Milk. And not to mention you can use the Glamour Seed on the Female bath anyway. Yeah some people didn't like HSS as much as GDS due to the different theme, TBH I prefer HSS though. Later on I realized I like sim-building type of games, something I forgot because I hadn't really played any since Roller Coaster Tycoon (3?) and Zoo Tycoon ages ago. Well a rich missus is a... missus with lots of cash? XD
There isn't a 'best' layout, each offers different types of effects and features various facilities etc. so it's up to you to decide which one you like best. The fun part of this game is experimenting with layouts!
which layout would u recommend for getting #1 in top 100 & relaxing springs? still struggling to complete all my 8 trophies
Does anyone know how to get around the rich couple glitch? I've played multiple playthroughs and still cant get them unlocked.
You can refer to the earlier posts (first post and around Page 12) for some layouts, or check the bath layouts (as opposed to inn layouts) in my guide. For Top 100 you can just re-build your inn to accommodate more bath effects. I've gotten #1 with just 6 baths with Jacuzzi, or just use any of the layouts with multiple effects. For Relaxing Springs you need to build tons of scenery items, if you didn't include them as you play you'll probably have to re-build most of your inn to get a high enough scenery. No specific layouts for this, just make sure you have scenery at your Rooms and Baths. The conditions to unlock them may vary, but technically you should be able to unlock them as long as you have the popularity of your targets raised. So if you haven't unlocked Rich Couple yet I suggest you just work on raising the popularity of your targets as high as possible (you need to do so to unlock the VIP room anyway).
Targets management Hello here, someone can help me please about how managing targets and how to get them all above pop 90 ?
large Bath Me again, as soon as the large bath are unlocked, at start should we use them instead the normal ones or should we use them both ? When i put my large bath it has all 3 red heart already, how is it possible ?
