The game is very good, but sound design is uber-ugly. There is no music or SFX during cut-scenes. Look's like sound engine thinks that hero is far away from spot where cutscene taking place so he can't hear a thing. Very similar to the silent cinemas.
Ok guys, I finally got around playing Horn over the weekend. Best ever storyline and sounds for a mobile game, hands down. Graphics are good, but what were they thinking about the water simulation? It's fake as hell. Anyway, IAPs are totally unnecessary to progress, but I hate it that the additional skins cost SOOO much of in-game cash. The cheapest is 30k, and it increases exponentially in price from there. Don't you think that these should cost a lot less? By my reckoning, it would take 5 hours of non-stop grinding AT LEAST at the arena to earn 30k. Or am I missing a beat? Do you feel that they should've gone easy on the pricing of the skins?
I think I can lay in on this. The Tegra 3 version has 'more' going on, but it's played on a much lower framerate than the iPad 2. The iPad version has better resolution surroundings as well. Alas, my main device is the Tegra 3. I only wish I could get a smoother experience like on the iPad. Case in point, the iPad 3 version seems laggy like the Tegra version. Only the iPad 2 runs the game super smoothly. PS: Trust me, you rather have the smoothness than all the 'extra' effects.
It's pretty easy to farm pygite (the blue crystals) once you reach the third area. The arena there gives you huge bonuses, and you can magnify those if you use a STICKO with fully upgraded luck. The only thing I had trouble with farming was the cores, but those you'll earn over time just playing through the levels. Just be sure to look around for cores to shoot with the slingshot thing, there are a few in each overworld area you can mine too.
I have finished the first world....and have spent maybe about 7 - 9 hours on the game. So the whole game should take roughly 20 hours I suppose. But the reason I have taken so long is because I'm exploring all the nook and crannies of the places - I'm not playing to finish the story alone. Also, I spent about an hour and a half in the arena. The arena gives a lot of cores, but very little Pygite. I have 101 cores now and 6000 Pygite. I thought the rewards in the arena will increase (that's why I played so long), but no it doesn't, which kinda sucks). I was aiming to get 30k Pygite to buy the cheapest skin, but doesn't look to be possible unless I grind for a VERY VERY long time. Anyways, I agree that having to crawl into caves etc is getting tiring. It's like Dark Meadow all over again, go into one room after another to collect coins. This slows the pace of the game and cheapens the experience IMHO. Of course, I can choose not to do it and instead spend on pretty expensive IAP, but the heck, I paid 7 bucks for this game already.
Ah, the third arena gives more? I'm only trying the first arena, getting around 100 Pygite for each win. What's the payout in the third arena? Probably best I aim for the third arena then (I suppose the second gives more than the first, but still worse than the third). But I'm taking things easy now as the Android version is very unstable...will wait for an update before continuing. Heck, the Android version is listed as 0.9.4....I'm afraid they uploaded a pre-release version onto Google Play. Weird... PS: Cores are not a problem. I have 101 of those after the first world. Get 5 star battle ratings and you get 2 cores. Shoot the flying bees and you get one core.
The cloth simulation is pretty fake/cheesy. Nothing great IMHO. The clothes sway for no reason even when you stand still.
In the Westernesse arena, here is a payout for just one fight lasting a few seconds. (after spinning to get the 5000% bonus reward)
Holy crap.....that's incredibly insane! But what's the normal payout? How much can you earn after, say, one hour of incessant fighting?
It's difficult to say. I re-spin every time until I get either the 2000% or the 5000% bonus. I think each spin costs 100 Pygite but you will earn thousands in return, so it's well worth using this system. You can easily earn hundreds of thousands of Pygite in the space of an hour. (probably millions - I usually spend the currency as I go along)
Stuck in Suddene Anyone else stuck in Suddene: "The Lighthouse: Lighting the Way"? I've made it over the bridge with the coin and through the gate to the building with the suspended pillar. I jump across but either fall through the level or just get stuck. There doesn't seem to be a resolution on how to leave the level.
So this game only works on iPhone4s and Ipad? Don't understand why it won't run on IPod tough 4th gen? (most games just have better graphics, this one seems maybe too much?) I though the iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4gen were almost the same? Dont understand why it only runs on the IPhone? Especially since The iPod was designed for gaming..(guess this is more of a question to apple, are they stop making Ipod touches? Seems like they're only continuing on with the iPhone and IPad?)
Hang on, I'll just get my crystal ball. But seriously, it should take around 10 hours on average to complete the story part of the game.
