Yeah, they already said there will be no IAP necessary to play this game. But even with your oh so great developer/publisher comparison, if the publisher is Zynga the chance of it being freemium or a derivate was the obvious thing to expect...and especially with taking into consideration Dark Meadow: The Pact
You can't be refusing too much if you are in a thread about a Zynga game. There is nothing wrong with Zynga. You can play many of their games without ever shilling out a dime. I play Zynga poker and slots and have never used their IAP. So what's every one else's problem? I don't get why people don't get that. They seem to be as stupid as sheep and go along with what every one else says. Can't think for themselves. If you can think for yourself, explain yourself. What game have you played from Zynga on the iPhone that you couldn't play unless you paid for IAP? Please tell me and use details and examples.
And here's the full soundtrack: http://austinwintory.bandcamp.com/album/horn Amazing work, as always, by Austin Wintory : ) One of the best soundtrack for an ios game.
New article on the front page brought me here. It looks like it could be interesting. Dark Meadow was one of my favorite iOS games until the freemium changes. Granted, I had finished it already, so it shouldn't have tarnished my memories, but it did. (It would be fifth on my sig list if not for that.) Hopefully with the new backing this ends up as a win-win. I can understand that devs actually want to make money/earn a living for their time spent.
"Free-to-play is the future of gaming"; an ironic statement, considering Zynga is among the many F2P "publishers" who most gamers hate with a passion. Zombie, Hi-Rez Studios, and Uber Entertainment have made much better free to play games than Zynga. Oh, and this game looks like a shameless Infinity Blade ripoff. Why am I surprised? I'm not. Zynga hasn't truly made an original game since... Never. I don't think it even matters if Zynga didn't make it. At first glance of the combat screen, I thought, "oh look, it's Infinity Bla- this is a shameless ripoff of Infinity Blade on such a scale that the combat screen is identical". I don't have problems with GameLoft, because their idea of a ripoff is to produce a premium title that is usually of good quality that allows me to enjoy a fun game wherever I go, without being limited by the constant allure of having to pay money to enjoy it.
From an article just posted on PocketGamer - "Coming first to Android and then iOS, its launch price is $6.99."
We will have optional IAP but you will never have to buy IAP to beat the game Not once in any of our internal or external playtests have we given the person or used any iap.
Can you confirm that the game is still coming to iOS this month? According to PhosphorGamesGal earlier in this thread - "yup, its coming out this month!! :O"
This looks great and just the kind of game i like (just started darksiders2 on my pc) . Day one for sure .
Here's the actual line from the PocketGamer article: The way I read that, "hitting Tegra devices first" refers to the Android version. Perhaps Adamo can clarify.
99.99999999998% coming out in August. We don't want to make any absolute statements until we are positive but if I were a betting man I would put my money on August
is horn going to support icloud? because for me it would be top 1 first reason to buy on release date
