Yeah Matt, me too! I was on gold skull doing a challenge that someone sent me and it was horrible! It was unresponsive, I felt drunk. It was horrible.
I'm fine with how Hookbot and the new hat levels are, by the way. What's funny is I got the farthest the first time I tried the first hat level (78%)... I keep making stupid mistakes now. I haven't played it too much so hopefully I can beat it soon. Love the update! Can't wait for the new challenge system.
I agree, it's the only one i still have to finish but it's pretty much undo-able now. The only way for me to try beat it is by putting my phone in flight mode, turning wi-fi off and by disabling the ghost... I should say that lag has always been somewhat of a problem when traveling, it's pretty much the only single player iPhone game which cant be played with 3g on while on the train. I have to say that lag in a single player game is about as annoying as it gets, so i hope this gets fixed somehow. Anayway, all whining aside, I do love the game and was wondering if anyone could tell me if it's worth to buy the 3k laserhook for hookbot?

none of the hooks do anything apart from giving that character a slight upgrade in how fast the rope is fired the laser hook is just like any hook but has its own art, the laser hook is the hook you can see, but it also has a red sparking rope I wonder if kepa could change the special hooks in another update? like say... the laser hook could shoot out instantly and have an infinite rope legnth and like a laser (ie at light speed) the cursed hook could increase/decrease the ghost's speed by 50% randomly at the start of a level the hook launcher (I forget the name) could reel in faster and fire faster (if not instantly), and harm the ghost the drill could... erm, same as the launcher, its just another skin and maybe toggle the hooks abilities on/off
I finally figured out all of the hidden valuables on the Stone and Silver Hat levels. I'm happy with my #2 spots right behind qpawn. I must say that the new Hat levels are probably one of my favorites -- right behind the Bull levels.
Man these new levels are hard, I haven't even beaten the first one yet! I'm glad though, it's nice to have a good mix of difficulty. I'll get em sooner or later. By the way though, it seems like it's impossible to beat the hand ghost with Hookbot since he doesn't have a gun. That thing is on you within a few seconds of starting... or am I not fast enough?
i just bought hookbot to support the dev and help myself...i think it will allow me to go farther in the game
I'm sure I remember Kepa mentioning OF data restore, but I can't see anything about it in OF. As much as I love this game I don't think I can face playing it all through again, when I only did it last week. Kepa, please tell me there's some way around, as I just want to buy the new DLC without restoring or reinstalling. mike, has qpawn added you as a friend on OF? I see he's already demolished the new levels.
he hat levels are a ridiculously difficult level set purchasable for 1 gold after the golden rat and the golden skull levels are completed
I'm not sure why the early levels would have performance problems, but we'll check this out and hopefully have a bugfix patch soon. Beta (though we only had a small beta) was fine, so I'm wondering if something went wrong between the last beta and the actual release build. Is there anything unusual visually in the old levels? The Hookbot thing is tricky. The only solution I can think of is making it so that Hookbot can explore the first two levels with no ghost, but he can't unlock the hats from beating the ghost realm levels... not sure on this. The ghost realm is supposed to be brutally hard, but I'm not strongly opposed to having Hookbot be able to do the first couple levels. We'll never have a sale on Hook Champ again. I remember OF data restore being in the beta. I'm starting to think it's possible that the wrong build got submitted or something, leading to these problems. We did revert a bunch of things because we didn't want to do the new challenge mode quite yet.
Good idea, I think not unlocking the hats and not going to the leaderboards would be a fair solution to both sides.
what about making hookbot able to do them all with no ghost, and just not give us the hats ? unless there are only 2 levels... or, even crueller... erm...I mean... better, only let us unlock hats for who we beat the level with so to get the golden head, we beat it with hookbot, for the hat, we beat it with jake, and so on and so forth? also, I don't really think that the problem is the hats, more along the lines of the leaderboards. If we cheat to get hats, we are just messing with ourselves, but if we cheat for the leaderboards, we mess up other peoples work... it may be brutally hard, but it shouldn't stop it from being brutally fun either, I have been playing with the 1x1 blocks with gunny, dropping to the bottom, shooting back up and trying to see how well I can aim at the blocks, and just generally messing about, but then the hand comes and crushes the fun in the palm of it's....erm....self edit, I'm thinking of actually mapping all of the levels, unless kepa has the maps already, if you do kepa, could you post them? I want to make a poster of all of the ruins and tunnels
The ghost's so fast because I wanted it to be a little elitist. A little easier than, say, getting the #1 global crown. Something even singleplayer only people could work towards slowly. All the hats you unlock from the Ghost Realm are considered to be just like the crowns. We probably will end up making it so that Hookbot doesn't have to deal with the ghost, but he can't unlock any of the hats. Let me know if you run into any bugs or anything unusual. We'll rush out a 3.5 update once we figure out what's causing performance bugs. Also helpful: What level, character, hat, and hook you're using if you have performance issues.
YAY ^_^ Everyone Wins! *releases tonio* could it be done by the next update? I REALLY want a chance to look around these new levels also, nice job on the removal of gravity when you die, it's a nice touch for in space ^_^ it makes dying more interesting. (is the ghost realm actually in space or a pocket dimension?) also I was wondering, when using characters, they have a load of unique phrases, however, when trying on the golden skull level, because I normally complete first and replay with real characters later, I noticed that they said level specific phrases too, would it be possible to let all of the unlocked characters speak, but have a few character specific ones,IT IS A LIVING gets pretty annoying after a while when I know that there are loads of other things that jake and gunny could be saying. maybe to justify it you could say that they all go down as a team, and only one picks up the idol, therefore the ghost only chases that one? or in hookbot's case, his eyes have cameras in with a live feed back on the surface so the other characters can speak? (I missed most of the stuff about the ancients first time because of the IT IS A LIVING AAAAAAHHHHH! jokes, like the fact that the golden skull had never been seen before) Edit, I was also just playing with the new dlc character and she brought up a good point, why DOES the decoy not work, and even more interestingly, why does it work for hookbot? do the curses just dislike squishies? or can they detect no signs of life and just assume the idol fell over? ps. you should put in a cameo where there is a 0.01% chance of putting a pizza roll on the altar instead
ok KEPA here my intel on the lag characters: gunny with the 3000 hook (any hat) zelle with the gold hook (any hat) level: silver bull i found very specific spots where the lag comes in : at the beggining of the level , and at the last part of the level (the corridors with lava and bricks below) in these part my character comes to a complete stop
