Ha! When I first read your post, I thought you were qpawn finally coming out of hiding. So hello Ramses. I assume that you are Andre on the leaderboards based on the score and times you listed. I think with your score that you are probably running that level the same way. As I mentioned in a post last night, this is another one of those finesse levels, where there are a couple of drops that you need to hit just right. If I get the chance, I'll send you a challenge showing how I run it. But I might forget, so feel free to send me a pm reminding me.
It's a single set of 4 new levels. It was just a joke, we're still settling on the name of the new level set. Specifically, the new level set is unlocked if you beat all the other challenge level sets. It's 3 levels of the hardest levels ever made in hook champ, then a bonus level rewarding you for all the pain. The Minigore level set (update 4) will be unlocked sometime before the skull and rat levels are unlocked. They won't be super difficult, it's just our way of adding more levels for lower difficulty levels. At the same time, it's a way of introducing a new mechanic (shooting things) and seeing how it does. It's the Bug That Will Not Die. We've tried to fix this countless times. Each time, it gets a little more rare. The bug is quite rare now. In the next game, we'll be able to change fundamental physics code to fix this bug. Not so in this game.
I haven't seen the BTWND happen in quite a while...it only ever happened for me on silver skull. Anyways, glad to hear about the forthcoming updates and that buying hookbot wasn't in vain keep the amazing work up kepa & co. On another note, I've gotten really rusty at the game...haven't even got all the special hooks...and think i've slipped to about 7th on the total overall scoreboard...there's no chance of me getting #1 but I'll sure as hell give it a try. Also, as usual, I'm on my phone posting this so please ignore any grammar or spelling mistakes.
Paging KEPA: I've concluded that merely calling for a Moose Hat is not sufficient. Truly we need an entire set of four Wimpy, Bronze, Silver and Gold Moose levels. You know it makes sense.
I bet Kepa has a million bucks in his pocket saying it's good. Kepa, what do you think of redoing the store so you can up and DOWNgrade your rope/hooks I recently reinstalled hookchamp just to rerun through it, and i noticed that some levels I actually prefered the shorter rope. any chance of this happening? maybe like an adventure locker or something that keeps all the stuff you've bought so you can equip the combos you want?
Probably not, to be honest. We didn't design that store with that much modularity in mind. It's even hard for us to do something simple, like changing what order things appear in for the store. Add it to the laundry list of WOOPS kind of things that we won't repeat in our next games.
I am officially done trying to compete for high scores. I managed to tie qpawn on Silver Monkey (I got 2 more points), and then later I saw that he beat my Silver Bull score by 7 points -- really, how? -- Bronze Bull, and untied us from Silver Monkey by scoring another 9. He's good, but that is just too good. And I still think it is a bit shady how none of his TIMES and scores are posted to the weekly boards. And the fact that he can turn around and score so much higher on levels as quick as he does. I can't compete with that. So, qpawn, have fun competing (or whatever it is you do) by yourself! I'm not going to push you on anymore. Kepa and the rest of the folks from Rocketcat, thanks for making such a great, great, great game! I look forward to future levels, and new game offerings that you guys make.
Still haven't been able to fully complete that damn Gold Bull quest! Got to 80% as my longest and the lava tells the rest of the story. I got everything on Jake maxed except one more level of the lava pants. Is it worth it to max? it just says i fly a little higher...i wish i got an extra chance of hitting the lava. Any tips on this level? Hook Champ is way to fun for me to give up. Love this game.
I am probably going to download this game tonight but i was wondering which i should get though? Glu's Glyder 2 or this?? i personally would prefer this but was wondering which one yall thought was better i have enough for HC so i probably will get it
Hey I have an idea. Could you make Hook Champ 2? Or Hook Champ remastered or something lol. even if you remake the game exactly, I'd buy it again. And that'd way you could add all those things on you WOOPS list!
