I dunno, it could probably die if you shot it with a gun.

And from the urban dictionary, chamo means:

Chamo is a Venezuelan term for buddy, pal, or friend. Chamo, Chama (feminine).

So maybe this could be a kind of tag-team hook champ edition.

Hahaha, nice typo negamaki. Goodness knows what you've started.

I'd like levels with more coins. Say even a level where nearly every open tile is a coin but make it impossible to get them all with one way junctions and stuff...would be interesting.

Oh man... now I crave for a co-op mode! Maybe even a race to the finish mode?

Yeah, that would definitely be cool, and you could go in a lot of directions with that. You could have levels with multiple paths/junctions that require more than one player to collect all of the coins and gems, and both must still finish as quickly as possible.

We're pretty happy with Challenges for Hook Champ. Especially the new challenge system coming in update 3. It works great.

However, as we move to more action-type games, real-time multiplayer and co-op become more and more of a draw to us.

We'll do it eventually, the question is just when and for what kind of game.

Ok, kepa. I believe you mentioned on one of the previous pages that you might drop some info about the next game - I'm all ears! If you don't want to give anything away about what sort of game it is, or any concrete details - do you have an ETA for it?

And yes, I'm pretty excited for the update to the challenge system. The one we currently have is fun, but not very forgiving since you can have a bad moment and it's pretty much a done deal. Looking forward to the revamp!

    Cheers

While we are fantasizing, one thing I've always liked in some games is customization where you can't get every upgrade. This forces the player to choose what kind of character they want and many different characters emerge each with a unique combination. With games like Hookchamp and many others, everyone has the same character in the end, although the sequence of the upgrades is different (which is still something).

I'm not expecting hook champ to do this as it seems to be mostly in the domain of RPG where detailed customization is offered, but having different characters would sure make the leader boards interesting- do you concentrate on safety, speed or loot collection? Where is the best combination? Hook champ does offer a decent level of richness that might support this. Would have been interesting...

    While we are fantasizing.

I thought about that, too. Instead of having multiple characters, you get only one, but with multiple branches of upgrades to choose from. I love RPGs, so just the thought of a game like Hook Champ with RPG elements, where you buy upgrades and are able to choose which stats you want to buff up (speed, loot collection, jumping ability, etc.) with each level you gain - it all sounds great to me. Let's see what kepa and [cc] have in store for us next.

That upgrade to the challenge system sounds pretty cool, and I'm definitely looking forward to more levels. It's great that this game just keeps getting better.

Really looking forward to your next game as well, SNES-like graphics I think you mentioned? Sounds good to me!

We'd probably wait until we did an actual RPG to do this. It's partially a design thing that makes it difficult; it's mostly a beta-testing-complexity thing. Character differentiation beyond just cosmetics is something we'd like to try out, though. It's just that it'll be a couple games out, and it will be simple at first.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE NEXT GAME and SURPRISE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE 4TH UPDATE'S MAJOR NEW FEATURE:

Listen to the upcoming TouchArcade podcast to learn more! It's going to be a treat because everyone in the podcast was sick, including me (spoilers). Major info about our next game and the fourth update for Hook Champ will be in there.

I was avoiding this since I got my iPhone. I was a little iffy regarding the entire game. I am not sure why because I haven't really heard anything bad.

But yesterday I gave in and downloaded the Lite version... after the first level I purchased that game.

Excellent job! I think it is fantastic! How many levels are there in total? I am on maps 4 and 5 now. Don't remember what animals. But I am having a blast going back and trying to get the top scores. The first day of owning and I am already in the global top 10 for a couple levels.

Thanks a lot for such a great game! :)
