Back in comment #741, I stated that I was seeing what I believed to be a ghost bug. After looking into it a bit more, I don't think I'd classify it as a bug. On Stone Monkey, I had turned ghost mode on, got a #1 local run, and it saved that off as my fastest ghost run. However, I have found that the ghost is more of a hindrance when I am dealing with a level that I am improving on by hundreths of a second. So I turned ghost mode off, and continued to set new #1 local and global scores. Now if I turn ghost mode on, it always shows that old run from way back. I assume that is how it is supposed to work -- if ghost mode is off, and you set a fasted time/high score, then it will not save that as a ghost run, right? If that is the case, would it be possible to always save a ghost run for your fastest run regardless of whether the ghost is set to show or hide?
That's exactly what happened to me mike, and my conclusion is the same. Is your current #1 score from when ghost mode was off mike? I have a feeling the ghost will update if you beat that score with ghost mode on. I haven't been able to test this myself because the #1 local score on the level where my ghost is 'stuck' is near unbeatable now (heh). I would also like to see the ghost saved as the fastest run regardless if it's hidden or not, if possible.
justbanter: yes, my current #1 score was set when the ghost was turned off. I also figured that if I turned ghost on, and set a new #1, that it would save that. However, as you mentioned, that is going to be extremely hard for me to do now.
Bronze Monkey reclaimed for now, though I realize that most of my top scores are fleeting. Now there are THREE levels I'll accept challenges on!
Kepa, The robot looks cute. Can you talk more about him? Does he use his arm to swing with, what kind of hats do you think he might use? And you mentioned he will have new outfits, that's awesome. And does he bust through bricks better? Can he handle lava better? I would love to hear more about him!!
finally took the plunge after playing the lite. at first i wasn;t really sold, but after coming back to it mutliple times and slowly getting better at swinging, i now see the great level design and rewarding feeling of flying through a level perfectly., and with the $1 off i was sold
Yeah, you HAVE to play it for a bit to really give it justice. The first level with no upgrades isn't that fun, you just have to play it a bit, get better, get upgrades, get hats, and then you'll get your moneys worth. Best game on iPhone.
We were thinking about having him use his arm, but right now he just uses a grappling hook. We did this because each character is going to be able to purchase their own special FINAL HOOK in the next update. This way the robot's hook can be especially lasery as his Final Hook. He's most likely going to get an upgrade that helps him deal with bricks. He gets regenerating rocket boosts, though these boosts are weaker horizontally than the human's rocketboots. He does not get a shotgun, so he can have difficulty with really thick brick walls. The chaser does detect him because he's a robot, so you're free to explore the levels as slow as you want. If he's too good in beta we might make him a little slower. In hindsight, I kind of wish we just had 3 rope/hook upgrades, and just made the first upgrade automatic. The swinging just doesn't seem up to par until you got those first upgrades to the rope and hook. If I had to do the game all over from scratch, I'd probably just make it so you couldn't really upgrade the rope and hook, except cosmetically. Or possibly have different rope/hook sets you could switch between that were mostly similar, but each offered a different advantage over the others. Hmm.
thanks for the info, this information makes me more excited, should be a lot more fun when i do get the upgrades.
Way to go! Now beat the rat ruins. Nask26: The secret achievement is most likely "King of the Swing". It's awarded for getting #1 on a global leaderboard. We're going to make this easier soon, by changing the global leaderboard so it's a weekly leaderboard. We plan to add a special hat for being #1 on the all-time Feint leaderboard, but we won't have a matching achievements for something that's so hard to do. Work on update 2 continues. Tomorrow I think I'll post more sprites, this time showing about half the hats that will be in the next update.
Hmm.. Ive gotten King of the swing from Silver Skull. The achievement just says Secret and then I must unlock it to view its description. Its worth 60 points. Any hints would be awesome =D Thanks again.
Finally picked this up. Sadly, I'm horrible. Any tips? Lots of fun, and definitely a keeper, 5 stars.
I noticed that I have like 7000 in one of the levels, but I'm not in the top 5 leaderboards (I should be at #4). Why is that?
60 points? The only 60 point achievements I know of without looking them up are the Beat Golden Skull and Beat Golden Rat ones. At least we're narrowing this down! If you're offline when you get the score, it doesn't upload it to the weekly leaderboards, though it still uploads to the All-Time (OpenFeint) leaderboards. It's a request we've had before, but the way we set up the scoreboards just doesn't support it yet. I got some time to answer some challenges today. While doing this, I happened to get a new #1 global score! The ghosts really help with keeping things competitive.
