Are u against piracy or for it So u are an offender and the cracked download u have must count to the stats that are being thrown about at the moment so u just download cracked apps and buy them all or is this the only app u downloaded u dont ave to answer if u dont want to im just intrigued
yeah - I wonder if it's trying to connect to Wifi or something............ it happens really only when I'm in a wifi deadspot. I was going to try airplane mode next time I'm roaming to see if that fixes it. Any correlation to your circumstance?
I'm well aware that many people download cracked apps and don't pay for them at all - I'm not trying to defend them. However I don't exactly fall into that group either. I'm not sure what you're saying about the stats but they're for other games that I read about on Pocket Gamer. I don't play many games, but if I've downloaded a cracked one and enjoyed it then I'll buy it. If I don't enjoy it then I delete it. However, the need to play cracked titles is barely necessary and more as most developers provide lite versions now.
If we could please get back on the Hook Champ subject... Is anyone else having in-game graphix issues? It appears sorta like lag. My thought was that it has to do with the game looking for wifi when you're out (or right outside) of range. hoping airplane mode is a fix?
Yeah, I get this too. It didn't seem so obvious on the early levels but now I'm on Golden Skull it's become more apparent. Pretty distracting when you're going for almost perfect hooking.
I'm sat about a meter away from my router on a 10mbit connection so I'm guessing it's nothing to do with that. Unless the server that scores are uploaded to is slow.
hmmm.... can you try airplane mode anyway to see if we can tie this Lag-Like issue to ... actual Lag? I'll try myself...
dammit... airplane mode isn't helping. I'm getting a bunch of jitter motion on Stone Bull. I've gotten it so bad before that I've died cuz the screen basically froze for a full second. Looks like a graphic bug... I'm running 1st Gen Touch, latest OS 3.1.x
The lag's related to the scoreboards. A few things are added to the big first update that should help with this. It becomes worse if the scoreboard is really getting hammered or if you restart a level relaly quickly. Piracy numbers: I dunno exactly. Probably 30%, roughly. This is judging by the scoreboards. We have a "don't really care" approach to piracy, because we hate overly paranoid copy protection in PC games. It just ends up hurting legitimate customers. Also, I personally think that the argument "piracy hurts sales" is false, just because most pirates wouldn't buy anything, anyway.
I saw that and left them a comment for their great review. That's a pretty good score! I didn't understand what he was talking about for the "spirit cheating", though. I think it might either be because there's no really blatant indicator of how close it is, or because the monster's speed varies level by level. I kind of fell behind on checking out reviews for Hook Champ. I'll compile more for the official site soon. So busy. Agreed - you're not losing sales because the average pirate wouldn't have bought it regardless, and in some cases you gain sales by some pirates deeming the game worth paying for. Hope the lag issue gets resolved soon as it's hindering my attempts to complete Golden Skull.
If you're talking about the 5 gems in the gold skull level that you have to drop from the ceiling to get then it's not really a secret, they even positioned the coins so you know exactly where to jump off to get them.
Wow I'm playing through the lite now and I am truly wowed. I love the pixel graphics and the gameplay as well. Too bad I have no money for the full .
thats just wishful thinking i doubt pirates tell others to go out and buy a game they like. what i see most often is people who pirate game telling how they can pirate games and what games are best to pirate. i think hook champ is great game and i would hate to see any plans for future content updates to be spoiled by pirates or other sea faring/land lubbing criminals of any kind
